Use a company called Sytner Drive, they will sue the 3rd party and repair your car without even getting your own insurance involved, not to mention a loan car plus any injury claims.

The law is changing to stop insurers getting out of paying for using irrelvant details, if you have not claimed then on your insurance then you have not claimed, the other person is doing the claiming.

Ha ha, I'd like to see them try, I wasn't even in the car and have 20 witnesses (who I was doing a presentation to at the time) who can vouch for me .

I'm going to call my insurer in a bit so will report back...

Right, spoken to Esure, who have taken down all the details. They claim that because it is a non-fault incident, and the other party has accepted full responsibility & are picking up the tab, this will have no affect on my future premiums .

They open up an 'application' on their system, to log the details, but then close it down at the end of the conversation as a 'non-application' because it is a) non-fault and b) paid for by other party's insurer.

So, it seems I'm right to inform them (apparently I'm obliged to do so as part of the t&c's so not to potentially void my policy), but only time will tell.

As Gibbo mentioned before, it's usually near damn impossible for me to judge what's effecting my insurance premium, as I change cars regularily, change insurers, make changes (reg plate on & off) that sometimes attract fees, etc.
