I can't take it anymore. I need struts for my H&R's
I thought I could handle the bouncy ride with H&R Sport springs and stock struts. Its just too much. Around town is fine, its freeways that are the problem. I've riden in a KW v2 car and it rebounds much better over bumps and transitions in the road. Are there any aftermarket strut options that will give me a stock like, or KW like ride quality? I had an alignment done after installing H&R springs, will my alignment specs change after replacing struts?

I've had them 8 months. I can't complain about them at low speeds. But anything above 50 where theres a transition in the road where the grade suddenly changes, I literally have to brace myself for the bounce.

What's the difference between Koni FSD, Sport and Yellow? From what I read Yellow is adjustable. I'm really looking for the most comfortable, stock like ride that won't bottom out.
I found this post in another thread: Quote:

The Koni Yellows are user adjustable when it comes to stiffness. Most people I have done these for like them set right in the middle for the rear shocks, and 2/3s firm in the front. |

What happens when you hit a bumpy corner? Will the dampening go into comfort mode?

It's in comfort mode most of the time. Either way you should think about changing bumpstops in the front to e36 M ones. I say this because the FSDs need suspension travel to work properly and if you lower it on H&R there isn't much room for the shocks to work.

The FSDs are not recommended with lowering springs according to what I've read. You would need to go for the yellows with your springs or switch back to stock springs+FSDs.

My experience
I'm with you, bro. Have had H&R sports for two months. OK with stock dampers around town, except for big hits which jar the entire chassis (slow compression damping vs. simply less travel?).
My big problem is large amplitude dips on the highway at 80, which practically bounce me off the headliner a few times. Inadequate rebound damping, I believe. If you guys have experienced similar problems and fixed them with new dampers, please let me know what worked for you. |

Koni Yellow (mine set to 75%) + HR is smooth as stock but corners 100x better. IMO never buy springs without the shocks to match, it will usually end up with a harsh ride.
