I am planning to purchase a 2011 335is in Space Gray and pretty much all the options (including 7 speed) except active steering and rear sunshade. The Edmunds.com invoice price is $57,808, MSRP is 61,355 and fair market value is $57,218. It will have to be custom built from Germany. I live in San Diego and have seen many who have said they were able to negotiate at or even below invoice. From what I've seen from talking to dealers, none of them in San Diego even come close to invoice pricing. Main excuse, "we don't even have that car in the lots and will have to order it custom. Anyone from Southern Cal with a 2011 335iS coupe and same specs I do have any luck trying to get very close to invoice. Please give dealer and person they specifically worked with. Thanks.

The best pricing I could find for a new build, which I also did, was from the USAA pricing program. There are several similar ones. No one would offer a price anywhere near what I was looking for until I found that little gem. I opted for a different model in the end, but when I priced out a loaded 335is it came in a few hundred over invoice. The option credit dropped it to just under $1,000 below invoice, but the actual number varies month to month.

For what it's worth, the dealers can also check the factory floor in Germany, the car delivery ships which are underway, and the delivery port holding areas for your vehicle - you're not limited to their lot. Let me know if you need more info.

Got Century BMW to get me close to invoice pricing for specs noted. So I might pull trigger tomorrow. In the back of my mind, still torn between this car and Audi S5. S5 performance not on par, but decent. Interior is a lot better looking. Thoughts?

I got my fully loaded 335is convertible (all features, DCT included, except for active steering and active cruise control) for $1,100 under invoice. MSRP on the car was $69,400 and invoice was $64,310. I pick up the car tomorrow at 1 PM EST. Personally, I'm a huge fan of BMW interiors and find them to be a good combination of classy, sporty, luxury, and simplicity. Then again, if I was picking up an S5 tomorrow, I'd probably recommend that. You can't go wrong either way. Good luck!

Talk to Pat Springer at BMW of San Diego. I'm not sure what kind of price he'll be able to give you on a 335is, but he sold me my 335i for $48,000 with a $52,000 sticker. He's a nice guy, he wont BS you

Are you a Costco member? Costco has an Auto Buying Program where they guarantee that a car will cost you $x over invoice. All of the BMW dealers in San Diego County participate (don't know about Vista). This is the route we were going to go before we decided to do Euro Delivery on our 335is Coupe.

If you have the time, Euro Delivery is the way to go. We bought ours from BMW of San Diego for less than $500 over European invoice, $7,800 less than US MSRP. We picked it up 5/12 in Munich and dropped it off on 5/25. We're waiting for redelivery, which should take place probably the second week in July

Wow man, we got almost the exact same car except you got 6MT and I got DTC. I just picked up mine a few days ago. Have fun when you take delivery of your car (again)!

Oh, about the Costco program.. AMEX has a similar program, as do lots of other companies. The only criticism I have of them is that in the fine print, it says that they only have to honor that price if the car you're buying is an exact match. Quite often, you'll go in and they'll let you know that they don't have the exact car but a similar one, which is no longer bound by that guarantee. Some places will not honor it at all unless you challenge them on it. Somewhat less hassle going this route, but it doesn't eliminate it entirely, unfortunately.

I'm not sure about the OP's budget, but if price is a major deciding factor, European delivery probably wouldn't be the way to go. Flying from Boston to Germany is at least $1,000 plus food, hotels, etc. The price SD got is a great one, but when taking into consideration the travel costs, it brings it down to the same as what I paid. Food for thought, though the experience would be amazing. Best of luck in whatever you decide to do.
