E90 320i engine cutting out noise at start up

Hi I have a bmw e90 320i 2005 with 130k was bought 2 weeks ago strange noise when i start the car especialy when cold rough idle and it cuts off at random when stop at red lights changed PCV valve under the car dealer's 3 months warranty but still has same problems, diagonastic test done no fault codes also noticed oil level dropped from max (last week before PCV change) to just above min. Called my mechanic again he says it needs a service?! And that he will check again monday. This mechanic who is contracted to my car dealer who I think has no clue with fixing BMW.. Any ideas?

Seems from many many user accounts the 320i is pretty much a pretty unreliable and trouble prone car.

Forgot to mention noise at start goes away after about 5 min.

sometimes i get that pinging on mobil fuel. Try bp ultimate for 2-3 tanks and see if there's a difference.
