Question about Dr. Color Chip
Has anyone ever used it? I have a black saphire and have a few imperfections but not enough to get repainted.
Anyone ever used this stuff? |

Yes, I have used it for a few minor scratches. It does a decent job. It takes a little getting used to but it masks chips and minor scratches.

I'd say yes, but it depends on what you're trying to touch up. A very small chip can be easily covered up with a VERY small layers of oem touch up, and clayed smooth (to some degree). The most common issue with normal touch up is that people use WAY too much and end up with a blob.
My car is lowered and unfortunately got caught on an abnormally high parking lot curb. Scratched the #&%@ out if the underside of the bumper and was visible as you walked up to the car. There were dozens of scratches! I used Dr. Color Chip and did it like they show on the website. Dabbed a generous amount on without worrying about being that neat, gave it a quick swipe with my thumb to remove the excess and give it time to dry. Buff the area with their fluid and remove the excess. If you lay on the ground and look at the underside you can still tell it was scratched but all of the scratches are completely gone as you walk up to the car. It looks flawless from almost any angle though We aren't talking about the center of the hood either. The key to getting it to work is getting the paint in the scratches fully and not pulling it back out with the solvent you use to remove from the good areas. A little practice and you can get good results - especially if you need to address more than 1 or 2 chips. |

I used it to repair more than 50 chips on my hood front bumper and aero lip.
I bought the biggest kit you can buy and am VERY pleased with the result. Although it is not perfect, it does a great job of hiding all my chips. Highly recommend it. |
