Thinking of changing from E92 325d to E90 335d
At the weekend i was driving past my local BMW dealer and noticed they had this beauty sitting in the AUC area. It has a load of extras which i would love but is it worth changing to an E90 when its about to be replaced? whats peoples thoughts on the price etc. http://www.bmw.co.uk/bmwuk/bmwauc/de...2MEE0ODU1OTU=#

Unless you intend on going for the new model, and you haggled hard on the price its going to be worth the change.

gut feeling do you like the saloon shape do you need the rear doors? the coupe does look more sporty but then there's me thinking a touring looks pretty trick too ;-)

I do like the E90, im 26 and in the next few years the extra couple of doors will come in handy
![]() I would have to take some finance and i think it would always stick in my mind that i would be buying a model which is about to be replaced. Unless he phones back and offers me a demonstration etc i think ill keep my E92 and get the new model. If he had given me a demo on the day i suspect i would have taken it after seeing how good the 35d is. |

I love the idea of a 335d ... but I couldn't go from an E92 to an E90 just for the engine.
I looked for an E92 335d before I bought my E92 330d LCI. I simply couldn't find one in the colour (black) and spec I wanted ... thus got a 330d. TBH, if I had of seen the likes of this 335d locally to me I would have had a serious look ... but it is no coupe ... and the coupe looks loads better ! All IMO of course ![]() |

It sounds to me that the dealer doesn't deserve your business - he should have 'bent over backwards' to sort a test drive - even if he said 'come back in an hour' or whatever.
However, don't be put off by this being an outgoing model - the 'sweet spot' for most BMW models is at the end of the run. |

Just wanting to talk numbers before letting you test the car to see if you liked it is just rude and assumes you will fall in love with the car and want it.

Hi scotgc,
There is a significant difference between the 25D and 35D engines and more specifically in M Sport guise. My dad was after a 20D orginally and after driving mine was convinced of the 25D (3.0 litre) version however, after some negotiation he settled for the 30D M Sport (similar options to my 35D M Sport) which gave very similar fuel consumption as the 25D. Initially I was after the E92 coupe but with two kids, the extra doors on thje E90 are great plus I did notice that the saloon appeared more planted and rigid than the coupe. This is simply my own experience particularly after owning four new E46 330Ci Sport Coupe's, a new E46 M3, a new E70 X5 M Sport and now a new E90 335D M Sport, having test driven the E92. Whether a coupe or a saloon, you won't be disappointed with the E9x 35D engine. If it is any help you can see my initial thread with photos: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ghlight=av_guy All the best ![]() av

Regarding the OP, remember that every time you change your car, the dealer makes a profit on the car he sells and the car he takes in exchange, my point being only change if you really want that car because it will cost you. Sounds like you want an E92 335d ![]()

I am not a saloon fan at all, however, I think the e90 LCI in black or space grey looks superb and is probably the first saloon I have really loved since the E39 m-sport.
Would I drop £30k+ on an E90 now though?? Absolutely no way, in 6 months when the new 3 series is everywhere you will be gutted I reckon, and then when you get a trade in price you will be even more gutted. 58 plates will be 3 years old in 2 months, get one of them for £20k if you're going to swap. |

Thanks for pointing out the error in my post ![]() Whilst the M Sport makes no difference to the engine (you are indeed correct), it makes a mighty positive difference in handling and drag as the car is lower, thereby absorbing less turbulence.

Thanks for everyones reply, i think you are all right and that i would regret changing it just now. My E92 had its first MOT today only cost me £40 also had the usual wandering mirror and dull high gloss shadowline replaced under warranty, Its only done 33k on an 08 plate had it from 6 months old.
