There in lies your answer Ed.

Makes SRR are a waste of money, what with an inaccurate Dyno and an operator who can't strap a car down correctly.

Amazing Charlie's lasted 6 yrs!

I don't think I noticed Charlie NOT do this on all the cars that ran on the rollers on the day.
If there was a doubt in Charlie's mind that a car was falling short on power, he would double check everything.

Time on the day was never an issue, and at no time did I feel Charlie was rushing the participants through the process, if anything the gap between each car running was sometimes up to 10 mins, so I don't accept that urgency on Charlie's part would have led to an error.

I still can't understand how Charlie strapped Ed's car down *correctly*, *this assumption is based on his graph*,but then on the very next car to run on the rollers, made, what for Charlie was a schoolboy error in strapping down you car incorrectly.

From memory 9 cars ran that day, and with the exception of Jon (JLR - Merc) who was arguably down by some 11bhp, which Charlie had a very plausible reason for, and Martin (Magic - 320D) who was rather optimistic in his expectations , every car bar yours achieved figures that were within expectations.

Of course Dyno days are just fun, and ordinarily I wouldn't be bothered, but I have been to Charlie's 4 times over the last 4 yrs, twice with a group, and twice on my own.
On no occasion have I left with any element of doubt in my mind as to the veracity of what I saw, and then presented with in the form of a dyno graph.

Blaming Charlie, whilst expected, who has been in business for some 6 yrs for three poor runs on one car seems a tad fanciful in my opinion, and quite damaging to his reputation, however in saying that,I've never heard stories of cars leaving Charlie's premises after a dyno run and nearly ending up in a nearby ditch!

I'd pay your £40.00 to see it

I'll bet you the £40.00 you wont take me up on the offer though
Blimey are you Charlie's guardian angel? It's like a mountain being made out of a mole hill

Mistakes do happen and we all get the joke. I thought Charlie's assistant strapped the cars? Though really who cares, it's semantics.

Reasons for concluding car was strapped down too hard
Evolve have spoken to Charlie about the run. He wasn't sure it left the rear rollers.
Power tails off on SRR run - consistent with car being strapped too hard
I don't recall seeing my car move forward during the runs, i.e off the rear roller either.
My car made very similar power at Evolve on two seperate occaisons.

being devils advocate I have to agree.

My one hitting 198 was about spot on, though it it did that again I would be upset since now running +20% on my settings.

Still if another run is planned would not mind rerunning mine

I think on the day it certainly wanst rushed and as variations can happen why such drastic changes I dont know maybe simply a rerun now we have a benchmark is needed

I found my run at SRR last year was very similar (within 5bhp) of the Janspeed RR run I did last month.
Not sure what Dyno Janspeed used but it was single roller.

As I have said before, the best and most repeatable is the hub dyno.
Having used TDI in Bluewater also, that is an excellent machine and a professional race shop operator with real engineers
A shame its just so far from me...
