Garage List
No way is an XTrail a "Chelsea Tractor" more like a
"Clacton-on-Smack" tractor!

Honestly one of the worst things I've ever driven. Build quality is terrible- mines was a brand new company motor and the thing started falling apart after a month. If i remember rightly i think it was heating controls and navigation scroll button that kept breaking. May well be pretty mechanically sound but i got shot of mine after 2 months.... Don't do it!

Fuck sake guys, come on.......gimme a break.

TBH, I think the X-Trail is way to big. It wont fit in our drive ffs.

But in saying that, the E91 was ludicrously small with regards to rear legroom, moreso when there is an adult in the pass seat and a child seat behind.

We did try a 5 series but you know, it just didnt have that same feeling as the 3.

There was an X3 locally but again, just wasnt feeling it.

Qashqai and Mazda 5's etc were all grim.

Not exactly a massive choice in our budget that fits the bill.

Jinjar maybe mines was a bit of a lemon, a Friday car if you like. My neighbours have got one and they love it for towing the caravan etc. Who knows you might love it but i don't think its half the motor a 3 series is. Best of luck with it anyway mate.

X Trail not the best in that class to be honest. Honda CRV is a great vehicle, not in the most recent shape as its ugly but previous to that. Also nothing wrong with a Rav4. Wouldn't discount an X3 too quick either as they are pretty decent motors, especially if you get a 3.0d !!

My BIL bought his mrs a new Rav four years ago and it's been great for them +2 kids.
So much so, they've just chopped it in for another brand new one.
Decent space, some kit, reliable, diesel consimption is ok, residuals ok..... worth a look?

Oooo.......definately worth a look mate.

Car that we have a deposit on has a sketchy service history to say the least. So we are waiting for them to find out/forge before we finalize.

I have suggested Rav 4 as well as a CRV although it would take the newer shape to get a remotely tolerable spec.

The E91 option is still in the running by the way......i have......well.....omg, its hard to say it........

I have even offered up the Clio for trade in purposes

We're just about to change from a Pathfinder which has served us very well for the last 5 years. It's doesn't get a good writeup and neither did our Vauxhall Frontera B but you know, it's personal and we loved them both. Neither let us down, ever.

My Dad who's 76 has a 3yr old X-Trail Columbia which he loves. It's brilliant for pulling my ride-on mower out of the grass pile when he gets it stuck..... just can't get decent help these days... ;-)

lol.......Pathfinder was one on our list...............till we saw the fckn size of it. lol.

Thing is, we dont really need a 4x4. You know.............i dont think it will ever even see grass let alone 4x4 use and for 1-2 weeks at winter.....its not a requirement.

I guess it was because of the height of them and the ease of access.

Hmm.

Still none the wiser tbh
