Avoid them like the Plague, especially with my 245/30/20's
Still waiting for reponse to claim that caused instant deflation and a knackered alloy on my last car. Logged it on here , I beleive it can take forever http://www.potholes.co.uk/claims/how_to_claim Went for a long weekend expecting to enjoy some nice roads in the Cotswolds the other weekend, roads I know reasonably well where limited to 60mph due to dodging a pothole every 1/4 mile any faster and they came up to quickly to avoid, gave up parked the car back at the hotel and went to the pub Its a dam mess |

Yea mate, all over the place. Even on the M8 motorway on some sections!
Council couldn't give a f*ck it seems.

went to france last year, on one particular motorway coming back from normandy mile after mile of lovely new tarmac, the laugh is the surface they replaced was 100 times better than ANYTHING we have here, AND no road tax AND diesel at least is £1 a gallon cheaper than here.

Even the Alpine passes are in better condition (and they are subjected to harsh winters EVERY year) than a lot of our roads. |

running 19" 313m's and Flintstones/Bridgestone RFT's... def put me down as a 'dodger'
It's a late 2009 335d and I'll give them their due, BMW have softened the suspension since my Sept 2007 E92 330i. It's still uncomfortable if you hit a pot hole, but generally the ride is greatly improved. The old one was so bad on 19"s I sold it after 18 months, |

" France continues to be among the OECD countries whose tax rate is the highest. Taxes account for 45% of GDP against 37% on average in OECD countries. The overall rate of social security and tax on the average wage in 2005 was 71.3% of gross salary, the highest of the OECD. The levels of social security contributions are particularly high (16.3% of revenue against 9.4% in average for OECD)." OK, so I'm not an expert on French tax. But it seems to me that at every UK general election, the focus is on lowering taxes. So then we have poor roads. I know it's not as simple as that, but you can't separate the two. Or to put it more simply.......you get what you pay for. To answer your question - I switched to non run flats, and still watch the road ahead keenly, and swerve to avoid pot holes. Southampton isn't too bad though (less harsh winters?). Mike. |
