Help: AR DP install Wastegate Clearance OK?

I recently installed the AR DPs and noticed the car feels a little slower. Perhaps it's the slight loss of low end torque but I thought it might also be due to the turbo flange getting in the way of the wastegate arm. Here are some photos, does this look OK?

I tried rotating the arm to see if it hits but I can only seem to push it forward, not pull it backward. Just looking at it, it actualy looks liek if the arm were to swing back part of the hinge would hit the clamp. This puzzles me as the clamp seems to be on correctly and from the photos I've seen the problem areas were always the bolts.

Anyways, appreciate any feedback!

I had the same concerns when I did the install and I actually thought it was hitting the clamp due to weird noises (which turned out to be the "farting solenoid" issue). It's fine. Don't worry.

thanks for the feedback guys, i'll drive her a little more and see if the car adapts.

the wastegates right now definitely make some more noise at part throttle and the car itself seems a little less smooth. haven't been able to put many miles on her though. i reset the auto tune adaptions today.

Does it sound at all like minor metallic grinding? Last DP install I had a slight rubbing of the actuator arm against the DP clamp and boy did the car not like it. The WG would get stuck open and I would throw an underboost and go into half engine.

If the rubbing is pronounced you will likey throw these codes. Additionally, the car sounded friggen horrible. All it needed was a .5 inch rotation of the clamp to provide solid clearance and presto, the car was a beast again.

Wouldn't that clamp be in the same spot even with stock downpipes ?

The car seems to sound ok except the occassional wastegate rattle when going from a stop. I drove the car a little more yesterday and it seemed to be doing alright. Some of the low-end came back but the car doesn't seem to kick as much in the mid-range. I was also watching the gas gauge -> boost gauge and the car seemed to be missing the target by a few PSI.

I was never able to get a good 3rd gear run though so I'll have to find a quieter area and see what the datalog shows.

I also found a slight exhaust leak where my mid-pipes meet the mufflers but that shouldn't account for a loss in power would it?

The funny thing is that the clamp seems to be seated correctly but if the arm were to come straight back it should just hit the side of the clamp. That's why I'm wondering what range of motion the arm actually has. Does it actually slide all the way over the clamp or does it slide back just a little where the beveled edge of the clamp gives it enough clearance.

Mine is the same way. It has enough clearance to open and close.

+ 1. I have that problem right now. I loosened the clamp to be able to rotate the downpipes a little during my exhaust install... and I think I tightened them in the wrong positions again

Anyone who has wastegate problems should definitely check the clamps and actuator arms as a first step
