New 6'er screen
Hi All,
I know this has nothing to do with the 3 series, but there's no UK representation on the 6 forum and I've generally found the information to be more reliable over here. Question is: I've had two BMW dealerships telling me that the next step is to make the 6 series iDrive screen detachable, so that it can be programmed directly from your home computer. Anyone heard similar? Thanks, Jon D. |

Physically connecting your device to your PC to update is soooo last year. With iTunes moving to the cloud this year a car connected directly to it will be every iPhone owners wet dream. |

Sounds odd. Wireless would be better. If they really are going to go down this route why not make a detachable usb somewhere instead of taking the whole screen off? Or enable it to be updated via the usb port?
If the screen does come off, woe betide anyone that leaves the roof down! Stealers much be getting their info from somewhere though?

I had a look at the new 6 at a dealership on the weekend. The screen looked massive, and kind of detached from the dash.
(eg looked like someone had stuck an ipad to the top of the dash) |
