You can try to talk to the dealer explain the situation and see what they can do.
5k with really bad wear is NOT normal. They might just say you hit a pothole and make you pay for it. Dealer also inflates alignments, so if they won't offer you a deal like you pay half then find a shop with a hunter alignment machine. They should charge you around ~100 |

5k miles is extremely bad... A pot hole or some kind of heavy impact could have caused the alignement to go off or a suspension arm to be altered/broken. I would definitely get it checked out at a alignement shop asap.

I bought my CPO 2007 e92 335i about 12k miles ago. When I first bought it, they had to replace the turbos within a few days (they missed that part of the inspection I guess). I think this replacement caused them to mess with my suspension.
Fast forward to this month, and I just notice some horrible uneven tire wear. Heavy wear (down to threads) on the outside of the contact patch. Link to suspension pics: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=544355 I only have 12k miles on these Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's!!! Do you think I had a bad alignment when I bought the car? If so, do you think I can get the dealer to get me new tires? I have since purchased an alignment from them.

Alignment is not a warranty covered service. Dealer here charges $179 to do it.

it depends on how old the tire was on the car. if it was a brand new tire and it wore the inside bald in 5k miles, then something is wrong.
these cars tend to eat the inner edge of the RFTs pretty quickly as the tires near end of life, even with proper alignment.
