Dynapack Dyno - 412rwhp - FBO N54
DYNO TECH:
Here is one of my favorite dyno's, the Dynapack hub dyno. These are made in New Zealand and they are the preferred dyno for ECU mapping by many tuners and my personal favorite. The dyno consists of the "pods" that bolt to the actual hubs of the car and read WHEEL horsepower without the tire/roller interface. It is a slightly more accurate method of loading the car because you remove the tire/wheel interface which can introduce varying degrees of friction. Our car dyno's on the Dynapack at around 400hp to the wheels. Weather has a measurable effect on the reading since this is a turbo car. Depending on the weather I have seen a low of 392hp to a high of 412hp. This is measured to the wheels. For some odd reason the graphs for Dynapacks are labeled as flywheel and I really wish they would change that in the software since it confuses too many people. Here are some pictures of how the cars are loaded, aka "strapped" if this were a roller dyno. The unit you see here is a 4WD unit, hence four "pods", one for each drive wheel. Oil cooler: Yes, I have a single Mocal cooler in front of the intercooler. This is my third oil cooler setup and this one seems to work the best out of all of them.

He's running meth, so in theory IATs shouldn't really matter.
If he wasn't running meth, then I think it would have some impact on IATs. |
