I always know different engine oil makes a difference on the milage, however I couldn't believe the oil used by bmwhk is worse than what I use. I first changed the oil after running in my car around 2000km then changed it every 5000km. I've done 4 oil changes so far, the second last one was done at bmwhk which was the first scheduled service. However I found my car using slightly more fuel with the oil from bmwhk and it got better again now after my last oil change using shell ultra helix. It's around 40km per tank different. I normally do 8.9-9.0L per 100km using shell, around 9.2L with the oil from BMW.

BMW HK now is using shell ultra helix 0W-40, but personally i think 5W-40 for better protection......as long as you using bmw LL01 or LL04 is ok...
Hence obveriously driving in hot summer consume more fuel than winter.....especially for turbo car... Besides, my car consume 20% more fuel when change from 225/255 to 235/265...... |
