No, BMW would not touch anything until everything was completely fixed. So I have had a rental the whole time. I'm hoping Monday or Tuesday I will have the car back. The bodyshop has been good about getting my car in immediately. They were about 1.5-2 weeks out on appointments, but they fit me in.

Well I thought about selling the 335 and getting back into an Evo. But, after talking with my girlfriend, we may just sell her Soul, and she drive the BMW, while I get another Evo. Best of both worlds in my eyes, and our monthly payments would stay the same. Good thing I bought an auto!

If anyone is interested in getting their car detailed (swirl/scratch removal), I have done that on the side for a few years. Basically just do it on the weekends/spare time. Shoot me a pm if your interested.
I have several polishers, and could help someone out if they wanted to learn. Use megs, sonax, menzerna polishes. Have experience with different coatings and such also. |

Nick.... Look at Chemical Guys detailing stuff. It is the best I have found so far, and will save you a lot up front and make those profits higher if you are in it to make some money.
Let me know when you have the car back and are ready to get the coding done. Quote:

Sent you a PM, finally have the car back.
As far as detailing stuff, I just do it for fun. Its a nice way to just get away from everything for several hours. I've got plenty of product to last me to next year though. lol |

Moved to Indianapolis from New York last month. Still looking for good mechanic shop and Alignment/balancing shop. Any suggestions? Also, I'm up for a meet before winter hits.
P.S, I opened up a thread but no reply

Hey lostkhan... Yah the threads here are not as active as i have grown accustomed to over the years. I moved to Indianapolis from Florida 3 months ago. I have called around to a couple of shops in Indy and I like Ress Motor Works so far. I am going to have them replace the clutch in my 335i in the next couple of weeks. I'll let you know how it works out.
I would love to get a meet going let me know your thoughts. I live a mile away from the Art Museum if that helps. Later, Cc_

Where can I get my Active Headers installed around Indy?
Ok, so I recently purchased some headers from Active Autowerke and now I can't find any shop to install them. I called Reggie's Motorworks in Noblesville and Ress Motor Works in Indy, both are dealers for Active, and neither one of them will install them because they are catless. Federal laws, removing the cats, bla bla bla... I also recently moved to the area from PA and don't have anyone out here to help me. I also don't think that it's something that I can tackle myself. Does anyone know where I could get these installed around the Indianapolis area?? I'm going crazy looking at them just sitting in my garage.

Hey all. Native Indy guy here going the BMW route in the next few months. Long history of modifying Hondas and a Lexus and been out of the car scene for a few years now due to kids, a greedy exwife, and a LONG commute to work but excited to get back in and ready to go Euro. Talked the wife into agreeing to a 2011 335i xdrive that I'm planning to code and go FBO.
Live in the Brownsburg about 5 miles west of LOR and curious to who all is in the Indy area and could help me with coding and learning about BMW and of course going for some nice drives? Paying off a few bills and barring any major speedbumps that screw up my budget, I'll have the car in early November and stockpiling parts for an early spring mod-day! Hope there's a decent, or at least a few, Indy group of people to meet and hang with! Last edited by inde90x; 07-07-2015 at 08:10 PM.. Reason: Spelling error |

Welcome to the group man. You should come up for cars and coffee in north Indy one saturday morning - theres a decent size group of us that randomly hit it up. I am running a FBO 2011 335xi and am getting my stg 2 Pure Turbos installed right now so im out for another 2 weeks but im always down to meet fellow enthusiast. Unless you really want to code, I would recommend against it. BMWs are not the easiest but it can be done. I paid Alpine $150 to code everything I want and got the Dinan trans flash at the same time. He connected from LA and it was done in a hour - high recommend that. Always happy to help a fellow N55 if you need. -Scott

Congrats on the turbo install! Are there any good shops local for the extensive work like that? Last time I did anything I was in Terre Haute area and did my own work and before that was Indy Imports and Full Blown Racing so it's been some time. I'll look into paying someone to do the coding, not sure how comfortable I feel doing it and I'm sure dealer will cost more to factory reflash when I screw it up than to pay someone to do it right and save me time! I've tried to read up on the Alpina TCU reflash...what all is REALLY noticed by doing that? -Mason |

Yea, not worth the time and effort for coding for me when you can reasonable get everything accomplished in 1 hour at a fair price. I highly recommend the Alpina TCU Flash. It really does shift quicker, but when you downshift it rev matches so much better and I now get that mad gurgle on downshifts and it doesnt throw me through the window anymore. It also give you 3 modes instead of two now. Normal Drive (D) is like an economy setting, you are in 4th gear at 30 mph now, DS mode takes over the sport mode and is much more aggressive with quicker shifts, and (M) manual is the sport mode but manual shifting. (same as DS mode) but when you blip the shifter its immediate now. If you get the N55 dont forget to buy a charge pipe with whatever other mod you purchase right away. Our stock one is plastic and will crack and render your car useless on the side of the road. $150 part approx. Im happy to share my thoughts on mods when you get the car, but keep doing your research. The forum is full of mostly respectable tuners.
