Yes rear one is closer to ws, easier to do. Both have metal barbs. Its easier to do the front by taking vacuum canisters out of the way. I found 4mm hose better for them.

yeah the one going towards the windshield is the rear turbo line. This has a metal nipple, so follow it with you hand and try to memorize where it is. Then rip it off and put the new one down there, spit on the end of the line to help it go on.
The front nipple is also metal this one I'll be honest was difficult for me, I started to get nervous after I pulled it off it is very hard to get your hand in a position to push the new line on. So with my left arm if facing the engine slid my arm through where the line goes from the vacuum solenoid i held the new line right at the nipple and with my right arm i went through the font part of the engine and with a little flat head screw driver I pushed it on. Just take deep breaths contort your body and arms in weird ways untill you have good leverage. Might be easier to take the vacuum canisters out for the front turbo line. If the rear turbo line is hard for you I would not suggest doing the front one yourself, get someone who kinda knows what they are doing and preferable small hands and skinny forearms.

Just changed all my vacuum lines took me like 45 minutes to do and man is idle so much smoother. Just to let everyone know I used the 4mm platinum cured silicone hoses from verocious. I purchased 15'. I even replaced the hardlines running across the valve cover

Ok, I finally got the time to do this and those turbo lines where a real pita for sure but it felt great once it was all done.
However, even though the car feels normal to drive normally in traffic today when I got the chance to floor it i noticed that: * The car didn't give me that "kick in the a**" like it did before where boost kicked in more like "all of a sudden" (I'm on a custom tune). * I couldn't here the turbos spool when releasing the pedal like I did before. However, when standing still and revving it I thought I could hear them but not as "loud" as before.. Now, since I removed the air filter box to change some of the hoses maybe I didn't tighten it up enough.. I have a COBB accessport so I assume I should do a couple of pulls and do some logging really... |

Thats the line going to the diverter valves or BOV, its possible you created a little crack one the plastic nipples. I saw earlier you were going to use 3mm line is that what you went with?

Its possible I made a crack but I considered myself beeing really careful. And when removing a line up to 16 hrs after using the car I still hear the "swoosh" from the air entering where was the vacuum so maybe it's my imagination.. Also, I got the feeling that I got that sound of air being sucked in earlier because maybe my AFE air box wasn't sufficiently tightened so this could actually be a good thing when I come to think of it.. Just need to get the time to data log some.. Last edited by Fedorov; 09-12-2017 at 05:25 AM.. |

nice thread, helps a lot
I replaced all lines, cutted old ones and using them to cut the new ones and noticed that the rear wastegate hose was too long, meaning that there is some excess line length resulting in some zigzag behind the engine where the hose connect to the wastegate nipple. Should i shorten a bit lines that are too long ? or keep it like that ?? What's the better ? shorter the better ? Btw, with MHD I read -9.8 to -10 psi at idle, and -11.9 max after WOT at sea level. |

So I fitted my Vericious 3.5mm pipes this weekend past, all except the rear turbo vacuum pipe. Front turbo was a PITA, but did it in the end.
For you LHD cars I guess it's easy to access the rear wastegate actuator, but for us UK owners there's a steering column in the way. Anyone got any ideas how to access the rear turbo? is it best through the wheel arch or will I have to get underneath the car? |

Two quick questions.
1) For those using the 3.5mm from http://www.verociousmotorsports.com/...ld-by-the-Foot. do they go on snug or are they loose? Did you have to use zipties to secure them on? Also for those that have been using the verocious vacuum lines how are they lasting? 2) Anyone know if FCPEuro sells the 3.5mm braded vacuum line by the foot or is it only by the meter. I want to get about 12ft (4m) all in one piece and cut my own. Also are you guys replacing the hard lines with vacuum line? I went ahead and got braided vacuum line from FCPEUro https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bra...m-od-x-20mm-id asked them to cut this to 3m and 2m of non braded line https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...rp-11747797175 hope i got enough of each. See comments in orange. I just made an order for 15ft from http://www.boostcontroller.com/Turbo...tls-vh-3.5.htm as heat resistance and shipping cost was a lot better than vericousmotorsports Good luck Last edited by Wolf 335; 03-12-2018 at 04:14 PM.. |

I bought 20' http://www.verociousmotorsports.com/...ld-by-the-Foot. The front turbo is the hardest part. One guy had a good idea on the this forum I wish I knew about when I did mine. Find a piece of copper house wire 14 gage maybe. Stick that into the actuator hole and then slide the vac line over it. Then pull the wire out. Presto. It's either that or spend 2 hours like I did trying to get the line on the nipple and bruising the crap out of your hands in the process. |

With an exacto knife, you can carve out a little bit of the hose at the tip, so that it slides on. I had to do that to get the line on my turbos. Durability not impacted as the nipple is contacts the hose further.

Hey guys
Replaced my lines today with 3.5mm line from Verocious. Each line was done one at a time (removed, cut and replaced) with a few exceptions. Everything is correctly plumbed. Before, the car had solid boost down low (2500 rpm+) and pulled much harder. After the new lines were installed the car felt like it had half the power. No boost at all down low and I could no longer hear the diverter valves release when I would free rev. It would pull well up top but until about 4000 rpm it had nothing. Any thoughts? Maybe a line is kinked/pinched? I made sure to cut everything to OEM line lengths and tucked everything back in the retaining clips. I am going to take everything apart again next weekend but wanted to ask if there is anything else I should look for other than pinched/kinked lines. |
