I would assume this would be the best place to ask my question. How low can I drop my e92 Pre lci 335i on ST Coilovers? Their official website says 1.8 front and rear. I've seen it on other sites that say up to 2.4/2.2

Hey guys here are some pictures of my E90 330I on H&R coilovers. I saw a lot of people using just the H&R Springs but im currently living in Germany and needed to be able to adjust for inspection purposes.

Compared to the stock suspension and runflats this set up with regular tires rides better then it did on the stock.

Hey guys. Quick question about FK bumpstops. I am planning to have ST Coilovers installed soon and I am planning on running an aggressive setup. From what I understood, they make the spring rates stiffer so the wheels don't go bouncing on the fender. I've read that some members also stack them. I am planning on replacing all 4 of my bumpstops with FK. Will this serve my purpose? Can anyone comment?

I've been researching these coilovers for awhile now. It seems like Ohlins and KW v3's are the only legit setup out there for someone who wants to improve handling, lower and maintain a decent ride quality. My previous vehicle had Koni Reds/GC coilovers and that was a great handling car but punishing stiff ride. I'm leaning towards the Ohlins over the v3's, simply for the reason KW is building for other companies and those companies are rebranding the KWs as their own. Probably nothing wrong with those products, they're all the same setup with a different sticker on there. So if I'm spending ~2300, I'm going Ohlins.

with the ohlins, consider the possible added cost of upping the spring rate in the back. They come with weird rate ratios that don't make a lot of sense to me.

The dampers are very good, of course so I do think you are wise to consider them over KW's.

Certainly take the Ohlins over the KWs, but at that price point you are also looking at JRZ and TCK. Both of which are excellent.

Umm, trick question?

Yes, of course it can be done. That's kind of the easy part. The hard part is stiffening up the "platform" while reducing the impact harshness, which is accomplished by matching the lower springs with really good dampers.

How much do you want to lower the car and what is your budget? Without that information, there are just way too many options to list.

To drop about 1-1.5 inches front and rear. I would like to DIY so probably springs will be the choice

People i need help. i have done a lot of research on all this info and im having trouble deciding which way to go. I want a daily driven set up. i only want maybe an inch drop but the best set up i can get under 1000. please give me some input

Cheap coilovers. Save up a little more money and get KW SC

Does KW setup reduce rear end bounce/jiggle when accelerating/cornering over road imperfections?

Definately
Better; the car follows road imperfections more due to stiffer springs but absorbs bumps and potholes better due to increased bump travel and superior dampers

Just installed my v1s yesterday and iv'e noticed a loud clunking noise from the rear. Idk if its just the springs settling or there is something wrong. Yes the tires are rubbing and yes i know what that sounds like and its not it. It usually only happens in the right rear. If anybody knows whats up please respond thanks!

Has anyone seen the new JRZ line-up of dampers? It goes: RS ONE (new version of the RS1, 1 way), RS TWO (new version of the RS, 2 way) and then RS PRO (new version of RS PRO ,2 way w/ext. reservoirs). I saw these on their facebook page when they were at the PRI (Performance Racing Industry) trade show. I've been told the RS ONE is going to be kickass! Anyone plan on upgrading anytime soon?

Hey about your noise question, I thought about it some more and really dont think it's the struts because I recall the noise doesn't occur when I go over a bump or dip that is equivalent across both front wheels - it's only the irregular L to R bumps that induce noise. Which is why I suspect the sway endlinks and/or loose bracketry.

Yea, I get my noise every single bump I hit, one wheel or two. I definitely got a bad batch. JRZ is sending some new 2-ways for the front. Can't wait to get them, should be installed next week!
