My E30 had the overhead display just not the computer. The HVAC controls on the E90 (which were similar to the 5 and 7 series of the same era) were fantastic, tactile, and visually assertive.

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

can't imagine why you'd want touch controls in a car, because that would require looking at what you want to press and taking your eyes off the road. from a driving perspective it makes no sense.
