havent seen that video before.

I ran a kinugawa for ~20k miles with no issue and have a buddy whos had his on for almost 100k now. This was back in 2012/2013 when we bought them new, so things could have changed since then. But that is why i said to look at and not to go out and buy with no research.

End of the day, go with what makes you comfortable, just dont google "Turbo Brand" Failure, or you will find failures on all of them. Its up to you to do the research.

Everything in manufacturing is going to have some rate of failure whether it makes it to the customer or not. Googling "Audi failure" and getting hits doesn't mean that all Audi's are crap. Half the time if you actually look into threads where someone is claiming a reputable turbo brand has failed prematurely, it comes to light later in the thread that something else is really going on. i.e. bad install, op is a moron, etc, etc.

Honestly i didnt search for the failure.. i literally posted the name of the turbo in google which gives you video recommendations. I know there will be rates of failure but it seems this is mor aceeptible than some brands... like if i found 1 turbo kit that fails ill find a bunch of ppl bashing but if i find one that they approve of then it becomes everything but bad product lol.. just playing devils advocate.

Lol, didnt watch the video till now, but yeah, thats not a kinugawa turbo unless its a very old one before they stamped and put a nameplate on them.

Any failure sucks, and is unacceptable, but there is also a level of understanding that these are all aftermarket parts that are generally pushed to their limits and failures happen. Its all about drawing on personal experience, as well as the info you can find online, with deciding what turbo to use. You can find tons of videos of Precision, Garrett, Borg Warner, etc turbos failing as well, but we know these are great turbo companies.

On3 maybe doesnt have a lot of failure videos posted, but we also know they are using re-branded chinese turbos that do have lots of failures. I doubt On3 goes through each turbo and checks balance and adjusts them as needed (if they do, then this is moot since it has been proven that if you "fix" chinese turbos, then they can be good) so its something to be wary of.

Got any results with that PTE on the on3 kit yet? I think that is what people want to see. You did it right with going with a proven brand turbo.

Glad to hear it turned out well for you, man. I might piece together a kit with their hot side, or install a kit and upgrade it from there. I don't need the best options the first time every time; those type of guys either sit around broke all the time, or never go all out because they simply never have the cash to back up their mouths.

So skimming some of these On3 kit threads

Are these issues isolated or included fun in all their kits?

-Have to have the secondary 02 locations plugged and rewelded in another location
-The oil drain hardware is not correct and
-The turbo oil fitting is not correct or include a restrictor
-The wastegate spring is 6# spring and needs to be replaced

Having installed a ST all these bs issues add up with money and TIME. Hopefully they get these issues resolved with future kits if universal kit problems

This manifold is ~$2300! LOL

I think you misunderstood the oil drain or turbo fittings issue. The smallest turbo selected was replaced with a 6266 or similar size and that new turbo has different fittings than the ON3 turbo.

I got ya.
So how do you install a 6266 with that Vband connection?
Edit:NM I guess just keep that exhaust side.
Man, how is that holding that heavy ass turbo?!

The location of the O2 sensors doesn't create a clearance problem. They are higher than the splash shield. The "Y" to the stock exhaust is poorly done and very restrictive IMO. It will be cut off soon.

This isnt an issue with their kits, i just went with a different turbo that requires different fittings.
