hmm thats interesting, hopefully others can chime in. For me, when i plugged it in, the idrive recognized right away. However, I am having trouble getting the script to pull the 1b file for me after trying it on 3 different usb.

I reformatted the usb sticks, reloaded the maps on my laptop. Unzipped them and copied the cofig and pkgdb files only onto each of the 4 usb sticks ( not the entire usb folder, but the two inside items of each usb folder). This is what worked for me in 2016.
Will try to load the maps to my car tomorrow and will post here if successful or not. Last edited by Rezinator; 09-17-2018 at 08:09 PM.. |

Thank you!!! portalseo & Jagaer .
I have been doint this procedure for about 3 times from the Romanian BMW club forum without success because of the FSC Generator program. The 1b.hex file extracted from the glovebox had exactly 319 bytes and checking it with hex editor program contained also my VIN. Just added the extracted file in the FSC Generator and my FSC code was generated automatically "LIFETIME code" for Road Map Europe Premium EAST 2018-1. |

EDIT: Ok got it working, just had to put the files from inide the folder of DVD on a root of one USB. And put the other on a second USB and etc.
Okay guys everything seemed to work except the install of the new maps. I tried putting the folders in different ways on the root of the drive but the car won't read. When plugging it in nothing happens. What could be the issue here? Here is how it's set up right now and it won't auto read or do anything. I tried with the DVD folders in NAVD. Now I took them out of NAVD and place them in root as you can see still won't auto read. Last edited by TheMidnightNarwhal; 10-01-2018 at 08:57 AM.. |

This wouldnt work for my dec 2009 e92 either.
Had to grab an enet cable as stated earlier on in the thread and create the hex file manually. The 1b generated with the usb was invalid, if you look at the hex file in a hex editor an invalid file will start with.... "...... 123456. 1234567.x.1234567" What it should start with is "...... 773487. 2873863.Y.PR05208" The last 7 digits being the last 7 of your vin (Or vin of the car the cic was originally from) simply copying your original vin into the invalid hex wont work either, i tried that first. There are other differences, and they are used to generate the fsc. Maybe the guy who created it can edit the sh file to disregard the data if it returns 1234567, and carry on searching. might have a look at it myself later. |

Successfully pulled a 1b, but it's got the donor VIN for what I think is the retrofitted CIC. It's a Jap import car. Having said that, it has talk of toll card reader in menu, which is a Japanese CIC thing I'm pretty sure. Donor VIN doesn't match car's one anyway
What are my options in this instance? None of the map (fsc) codes I generated work. EDIT: If I pull the CIC VIN using Deep OBD, it's the vehicle one, not the donor one. |
