And FWIW trying to coordinate with the guys at BPC right now. The week after next is perfect for their timeframe. I just need to get my schedule to conform and worst case scenario, "ship" the car down their with all the pieces necessary...

I am guessing the S/C is oil cooled? Or is it also coolant attached?

No coolant attached... I know it has it's own lubricant and such. Now, I don't think it cools it though... Just doing the coolant since it's been a while :P

the internal plasic parts failed and jammed the vacuum pump shaft. This caused the bolt for the pump sprocket to fail when it could no longer turn the pump. Thankfully the chain and sprocket were undamaged.

Glad this came up then rather than me driving with my baby nephew in the car... Thank God. Once I get payed next week, gonna look again at some shipping companies and a nice local e30 sedan to daily from then on out, seeing as how Virginia Beach/Norfolk have nasty flood points that I gotta drive through, and that intake being preeeettty low with the kit.

stahp...
![]() So. I need to set up a shipping service to move the car to NC (I am a literal 3 1/2 hour drive early in the morning, the only thing is, whenever I can take some leave, some things just don't line up in the best ways, for instance my schedule and theirs at BPC. No hate, I get it, but it just really complicates things on my end. As blasphemous as it is to miss out on opening the car up on the beautiful NC roads, this way it'll get done quicker and won't be another thing to juggle and stress about...) When I get some moar coin on Friday, gonna get that setup. And tomorrow, need to get some confirmation about what manifold I should be looking at Biginboca... hook me up with that part number, my d00d ( I keep seeing a handful of different numbers, want to make sure I can eliminate most of the hurdles of making this a success.) And I am only giving in because Bob & Randall are pretty adamant on the potential/effectiveness of that IM in conjunction with the blower. And I'm ordering that n54 catch can tmrw, and following the thread I linked earlier on in here, to save some messes in the future. BELIEVE ME Kubricks! I want this done asap ![]() Have to look at suspension stuff and diff stuff and more unecessary body stuff that screams loser for my bb. Then of course, more power stuff when I need to scratch the itch.. This thing is gonna be gnarly.

Hmm.. I don’t know the part number on N54 manifold. It came off eBay out of a 2009 535xi and I have a few pics of it from the eBay listing if it’s helpful. I didn’t realize there’s different versions I just bought the cheapest one I could find on eBay. If you want pics or more info feel free to pm me!
I suspect your best bet would be to grab a manifold with throttle body from a 335 part out on here. I’ve seen them listed for as low as $150 for both. (Providing you didn’t order the WCR BBTB already. For the N54 TB I think there’s 2 versions and one should plug right up, so you should verify it has the correct plug.) |

Stay with the stock N52 1IM. If you had a 3IM installed, I wouldn't remove it, but I also wouldn't 'have to install it' either. N54 intake manifold on the N52 will make less TQ all thru the midrange and will make more power 6000 to 7500 rpm. |

ESS told me the kit with a 3IM showed a 20whp increase over the kit with the 1IM.

My opinion is that this once again boils down to personal preference. If you want to really use that supercharger and plan to keep the car in the upper revs all of the time in order to do just that, the N54 IM is probably a little better. But if you want to keep the car an easy DD when you want it that way, and plan to spend plenty of time in the low RPM's, keeping the 3IM in order to "even out" the power band would work well. At least that's how I look at it, but I could be wrong about the N54 IM being more powerful up top with the S/C.
