Trying to find somewhere where I’m not #300 on the wait list, proving to be harder than expected. Half the dealers don’t even know when they’ll even get info for allocations.

This vid, plus the Demuro vid, are probably all one needs to see.. Worth your time. GM have thrown down the gauntlet IMO. When the all wheel drive 750+ horse power hybrid C8s hit the market, the super car playground space will become redefined - both in terms of performance and value. Now let's get those Asian silicon chips unloaded from the cargo ships anchored right off the port of Long Beach shall we.. and start building some cars..

I watched that video quite a few times. One bad ass car with one bad ass engine in it. If only BMW could build an N/A engine like that for the M3/M4 would be pretty awesome.

BMW built the S85 V10 for its M5 in the mid to late 2000s. It's the engine the E9X M3's S65 is derived from. But even that S85 "only" produced in the neighborhood of ~550HP - and it's a V10!. In the C8 Z06 launch video, the President of GM, Mark Reuss mentions "this engine project was like going to the moon" and low and behold we occasionally see a rocket ship logo on some of the castings - it's like an Easter egg in the video. See images below.

I'm guessing a base MSRP of $89K.. just to put the cat among the pigeons (i.e. the other car makers..)..

I think this is why GM has done a hell of a job with it. Not only are you going to have an entry point significantly less than other high revving NA sports cars but Im willing to guess the car itself with keep up with them as well. Now, Im not saying it'll be as good as the GT3s but unless you're driving both cars at 8/10s, I doubt you'll notice much difference. This is an extremely intriguing package. Ive gone from an E90 a few years ago to RS7s, M6 GCs and other turbo engines and here I am, back in an E90. Kudos to GM. I cant believe the hate its getting from some on here and other car forums of other top brands. Some people are in denial!

It's a joke, chill out. Maybe I'm an outlier? I can afford a 458 but will likely purchase a c8 z06 as I plan to heavily track the car and ferrari's aren't typically the most reliable for track duty.

All good ninja. I agree with the not tracking a 458. I'm not into tracking so it's never a question for me. Z-06 is definitely on my list. Feel like I e been waiting 4-ever

2023 Corvette Z06: Would You Buy It Over Porsche’s 718 Cayman GT4 And Other New And U

More powerful than a Lamborghini Huracan, more tuneful than a Ferrari F8 Tributo and a third of the price of a McLaren 720S, the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is the supercar bargain of the year. Really, what else would you buy for the $90-100k it’s expected to cost? Funny you should ask, because while the C8 Z06 might undercut every European exotic by a sizeable margin, it doesn’t have the entire field to itself. Buyers looking for a $100k mid-engined sports car have a number of new and used options. Take the reader poll and see the article here.

I was going to say maybe a 911 4S, but damn...that's 150K easily with any options.

All those cars would get curb stomped by the C8 Z06. A 20+ year old Modena with no warranty, really...some people must really hate anything GM.

Indeed, I agree. Amazing engineering at this price point. Have to applaud GM.

And I like the larger openings in the front of the Z06 making the front end a tad less busy to my eye, and the profile looks fine. But that rear, even when wider, still looks funky to me. And that ZO6 wing doesn't help. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder. So if you like the way the new C8 looks, and can afford this car, I think it's a no-brainer to try to get one. That platform + mag shocks + FPC V8 = homerun

And I'd say it's the same for the 2 Caddy Black Wings. If you like the way either look, I'd simply order one, because they both offer a lot of performance, and practicality (and manual trannies!). GM's truly on a roll.

By the way, EnVe, I'm in a 2013 E93, which I will never sell. I'm going to drive this thing until the wheels fall off.

There's something to be said about high revving NA V8s that produce the perfect symphony!

Only thing I don't like about the looks is they went to Ferrari and lost the Corvette dna. However, that's not a bad thing, I just don't like when manufacturers chase something they're not. Now, under the skin, I'm certainly glad they did just that!

Great to see at least one automobile manufacturer coming out with an all-new naturally-aspirated V8.

Wonder when we'll see the hybrid Corvette. Possibly in April for Earth Day?

IMO they took the front engine layout about as far as they could. As a long time Corvette owner I'm more than pleased with its evolutional progression. I can think of no other brand that could have pulled this off and maintained such competitive performance to price ratio.........
