I'm sorry, but you cannot make the change yourself. For people that have the unit with the harness, they work just as well with as the ones without the harness. Thank you again for the order!

From the batch we just received, we only have 1 set left, all the others are already sold. Once this unit is gone, we'll post a new backorder date for the next 20 coming in.

Oh the E90 LCI, there is 1 plastic piece you do need to snip off. it does not change anything inside the headlight though, its only a holder. It will be in the instructions which will be posted tomorrow morning.

WTF?? Plug N Play doesn't involve snipping anything - Tell us everything upfront. Don't piece meal the information. You told us these are plug n play, meaning plug in and they play. Do you have a different definition?

So then these aren't plug n play as advertised, right??

If you selling stuff, you need to come clean from the start and not decieve people into thinking they are buying something they aren't.

Some of us may rightfully want their refund to include shipping back to you.

For the E90 LCI there is a 20 second mod that you need to do, other then that they are plug and play. These headlights were designed with a small plastic pin which is in the way.

Here is the Video that i made. There are higher quaility pictures in the install guide as well

I must say this bothers me a little bit. Marc makes a great product and there are many satisfied customers that have purchased the LUX kits from him. However, I'm really bothered by the fact that you have completely ignored the concerns of customers who purchased the old kit just before the new one came out as well as those who may want to return the product because it is not 100% plug 'n play. I don't know what other discussions you've had with these unsatisfied customers but from the surface, it isn't right because you seemingly haven't made an attempt to rectify their problems. It may not be a big deal to you because you're very mechanically inclined but for those who aren't and purchased this kit under the guise that zero modifications would need to be done or that no new kits were coming out that would limit the need for harnesses, I don't think it's right. It would be one thing if you were selling a one-off kit but you're selling these as a mass-produced product. I don't know, that's my 2 cents..

I'd like to reply to this post. First I would like to say that MDS had no intention of changing the design to make these without a wiring harness. The only reason that MDS made the change was many customers were complaining about the wiring harness and having to drill into their cars. Because of this feedback, MDS went back to the design and was able to modify it so required on harness.

We have many people that have the kit with the wiring harness and are very happy with. I just don't want people thinking that we intentionally changed the design to make customers upset. This was not the case at all. MDS had purchased over 100 harnesses to make these LUX H8 units with and now those will be wasted because of the design change. Products evolve in any industry and that was the case with the LUX H8 lights as well. I am personally impressed that MDS used the feedback from our customers to make a change so quickly and incorporate it into the next batch of lights. This brings me the E90 LCI.

I have updated our website and the original post to note that the E90 LCI will require a small modification when doing the install. As MDS had said, he made a video which we will link to showing the change. This 20 second modification is very easy, but if people don't want to do it, that is fine. If you have purchased these for your E90 LCI and don't want to make this small modification, please PM me and we'll take them back. MDS did not think this would be an issue, but if people don't feel comfortable doing it, please PM me. Only the E90 LCI requires this modification, the E92/E93 and M3 vehicles will not need this. This is shown in the 2 sets of instructions I have posted below.

MassBimmer – I’m sorry that you feel this way. I want to let you know, I have not ignored the concerns of everyone else, and especially for those who purchased the ones that require the harnesses. If people have purchased the ones with the harnesses, we are offering to swap them for the new, non-harness ones. I am also working on making an adapter they can use so they can remove the harnesses that they have and still get the same functioning lights.

As for the modification – I understand your concern with this as well. You do not need to be mechanically inclined to do this because it is extremely simple and will take around 20 seconds. Unfortunately I’m trying to make everyone happy with a product that fits into the BMW Designed headlights, and they have designed them rather inconveniently. Snipping this little tab will not affect the headlight in any way.

Also – just to clarify, these lights aren’t quite “mass-produced” they are actually all handmade, which ensures quality, and also is time consuming.

great reply.

I'm looking forward to getting my set to try on my E60 LCI.

with regard to the above instructions for the E92 etc., is the third page supposed to be blank? and I guess it's a typo that you say you need wire cutters for the the install, correct?

now lets see pics of what supposed to be getting

great reply! i feel this is the customer service that we all seek and have found with namo and mds.

things will always be improved, albeit a week, a month or a year. have you forgotten how many versions of the original lux unit marc produced?

whats even better is that they have offered to swap your units for ones that are drill-free. there is a price for beta testers. you field-tested the units but you also had them weeks/months before anyone else.

Let me have MDS look over his instructions again. You are correct, the third page was blank, I think he just had some extra space at the bottom by mistake. We will get that and the wire cutter as a tool taken out right away!

Pictures of LUX H8 units being posted this afternoon.

If it ever lets up then I may get a chance to install these.

To clarify MDS's point here. We are offering to take back uninstalled units from people that have the wiring harness. If the unit has been installed, we are not taking them back and swapping them. However, MDS is working on something for the people that installed these with the harness so they don't need the harness anymore. Just wanted to clarify that point for people.

Yes, i did have the entire headlight removed when i had taken these pictures. I found it was easier to show it this way.

that small cover on the top, with the 3 screws - that is Not he one that you need. That cover will allow you access to the high beam light, not to the angel eye bulb.

as for warranty - as long as you replace the OEM bulb when you return the car then you will have no issues with this.

I hope this clarifies things for you
