Well, everything is high maintenance if you want it done right I think. The 190E was no different really.

And when you buy coilovers for a DD, then it's not so much high maintenance now rather than just a little over the top.

What's your definition of done right?

Wait, I think I'm getting the picture now.
Well, apart from upgrades like COs, I mean done right as in not cutting corners and just buying the proper parts and replacing wear items before they break.

Like new control arms and bushings, new strut mounts, new tie rod assemblies, GC RSMs and RTABs w/ shims for suspension...

Then a new radiator, hoses and expansion tank, lower t-stat and fan temp switch, electric fan kit, delete the always exploding engine fan, and a real gauge to monitor coolant temps. That's for the cooling system.

Plugs, filters, and misc. stuff for a tune up.

Interior I bought a deck that can take an iPod. And I got the COs, and will tint the windows before it gets hot. Oh, and swapping seat cushions on the front seats so the passenger one will now be the driver's one to even out some of the wear.

So, lots of work to do and lots of money spent already.
