I was thinking the same thing. maybe the Junk Yard. But I think you can have a 330i Flash done or I believe the Gintani Tune will take care of the Issue. Craven would know about the ECU Flash part.

you can't put a different computer in your car without getting it reprogrammed by the dealer first. Each computer is coded to work with only one specific vehicle. So it's not worth spending the money on a spare computer until someone figures out how to code it to your VIN.

My understanding as well. DME is coded to the vin/specific model.
It can be done, but requires serious ins with BMW.

If you have an N52, your DME is an MSV70. So a 330/328/325 or any other BMW with the N52 has the exact same DME which means the programming is relatively the same. The specific values are different. Also, the DME does not control the disa valves. They control themselves by getting rpm for the cam position sensor.

www.realoem.com has all the part numbers and I did some research before I bought my three stage intake manifold. Also I tested out the disa valves by plugging them in while I still had the single stage manifold. They open and close at the proper rpm regardless of which plug you use. Unplugging them also does not throw a code so that leads me to believe that they are not monitored. I'm just theorizing about the disa valves but it seems logical.

good to know. I was wondering how I'd know which plug to use for each DISA valve. sounds like I just need to order them and put this thing on (I already have the manifold, sans valves).

You need the screws too. Click on the 330 conversion link in my sig for the part number list.

on a 325i, yes. Not sure if the 328/128 already has the wiring for the disa valves though. look at your manifold near your throttle body for two empty plugs clipped to the side of it.

That would be me. Install took 2.5 hrs roughly. Wires to connect to the DISA motors are present and attached to dummy plugs on the side on the single stage manifold. I also have the Gintani/ OE Tuning ecu flash. My butt dyno tells me that there is quite a bit more torque/ HP especially above 2500 rpm. Even my buddy that helped me (he has a old souped up V8 dodge) commented that "it really pulls" on the test drive after the install was complete. Unfortunately the closest all wheel drive dyno (mine is an xi) is 4hrs away, so I doubt that I will ever dyno it.

this is one engine mod that is actually worth doing with the amount of power increase.

One of my buddies is trying to get me a used 330i intake manifold and I'm going to have that done with the Gintani tune and have Craven build his custom exhaust for my car. I think those three will be a nice set up on my car. So we will see what he can find. I'm hoping he will have the manifold by maybe next weekend which would be awesome.

I think another difference between the 325/328 and 330 is the diff gearing. That would make up for the hp difference between a 325 w/intake and tune and an unmodded 330. Can someone confirm this?
