38.7mpg on the way to the office this morning.. 83 miles.
Not bad for a car with 400 bhp.

Got bored driving on the M way on the way back home whilst visiting the in-laws, so decided to stick to the speed limit and managed this....
Who needs a diesel when you can manage this in a 335i |

I get depressed reading these threads I'd love to try someone else's car for a week, just to see if it's my driving that does it, or if it's the car.

E92 2007 325iSE N53 (3.0 litre), manual, ED
Worst: urban/suburban commuting, winter 29mpg Typical mixed driving: 35mpg - seems to get "stuck" on 35.7 for days on end Best: m-way or uncongested A roads, but not in cold weather: 42mpg These are not measured brim-to-brim, just from the onboard computer. Are fuel computers accurate or optimistic like speedometers? If accurate, makes me wonder why BMW are ditching the naturally-aspirated 6-cyl N53 for a 4-cyl turbo. |

E90 335d M Sport Saloon, 2008 first ED model.
Typically around 35.3 for mixture of local driving and intermediate distances, around mainly rural / low congestion area. Managed 50+ the other day for the first 15 miles of a trip, until I turned onto a very hilly twisty road without any traffic... things dropped to my usual 35 then |

E91, 318d Exclusive Edition, manual, 1100 miles since new, mainly country single carriageway roads and some town work, OBC shows 53.5 mpg, not reset as yet. I think the 255 section rear tyres drag it down a lot.
