I understand, interestingly enough, many people who have swapped tips on the PE exhaust have noticed significant changes in sound. It's weird and the issue seems unresolved.

If the welding is not perfectly smooth inside then the sound may be slightly different as it blocks the air flow.. The tips have hollow piping so it shouldn't change the sound at all if done right.
