newb first night on the strip
1) Model and Transmission: e92 335i 6MT
2) Elevation, Temp and Humidity: don't know 3) All performance modifications done to the car: Cobb stage 1, FMIC, DCI 4) Level of gas ran and how much gas in the tank? (ex: 93 octane and 1/4 of a tank)? 1/2 tank 93 oct 5) Any weight reduction done to the car?? (ex: removal of rear seats): none 4) Type of tires and rims?? (size and weight if possible): stock 17" continental RFT 5) Years of driving the type of transmission?? (this goes for mainly manual transmission, so if you are relatively new and are an "ok" driver let us know, this def makes a difference): on and off for 15 yrs 6) Obviously some type of proof of your 0-60 time, trap speed and finally quarter mile time. Preferably some video or slip or link to the drag time slip website to your direct slip.: this track doesn't give out slips for open racning. I wish they did then i could see the 60' and reaction times. 1/8 mi track first run, stalled engine LOL second run, 9.7 @ 77 third run, 9.2 @ 87 fourth run, 9.1 @ 88 I know, I suck. Can't launch the car. Three other forum members were there and we have the two final runs on video if anyone needs proof of my shitty runs. There was an e90 335i AT there with JB4+FBO+meth and ran a 9.4 @ 88. Didn't get great launch either because of bald tires. LOL |

Went to the track for the first time saturday. Only got in two runs here is the best of the 2. Seems like 12's will be no problem with a better launch considering the trap speed. Any thoughts?

This run was from Banimere Colorado at 5800ft Altitude
Setup: 2009 135i with Vishnu Rev 2.5 V5 and PWM Meth kit stock turbos @14.5 psi (UT 45%) 0% IC 75/25 Meth/water 50% 91oct + 50% 104oct 19" Falkon tires Ambient temps ~70F (135i was Left Lane, right lane was a ~2006 Pontiac GTO) Just for some perspective of how slow this track is... Last gen Mustangs (not the current model 5.0) stock will run low 15s and current Gen Camaro SS stock will typically run high 14s at this track Last edited by sear; 10-06-2011 at 12:08 AM.. |

Yea, I was very pleasantly surprised by the trap as well. Only a few 335s in the high 12s @Bandimere that I know of. Will have to wait til Spring to try for 12s since the track is closed for winter now...

28 runs tonight, only about 10 people racing and most quit after a few runs because nobody could hook up. I just kept going because the car wasn't overheating and there was no line! I had planned on 3-4 runs max...lol
TOTALLY blown away by the times, never thought the car was this fast. I should have taken video but didn't want to get in trouble it being my first time. Only 2 mods done to the car are JB4 and DCI, these runs were done using Map 7 and 104 octane race gas mixed with 93 octane for ~100 octane. Best 1/4: 12.031 @ 113.8 Best Trap: 12.053 @ 114.72 Best 60': 1.682 Had major issues launching, not surprising given most RWD cars couldn't hook up. I quit trying 1st gear launches after a few passes as I was just hitting the rev limiter and the runs were garbage. Starting in second with brake boost to 3.5k rpm and DSC/DTC off was the ticket, only had wheelspin a few times and otherwise very solid runs and very consistent. Shifting at 6.2k rpm vs redline gave me an additional 1.5 - 2 mph up top and a .1 to .2 lower ET. I kept going hoping for 11s, but just no dice no matter what I did (hood open for 10 min, water on the IC). Looks like I'll need meth to break into the 11s! Oh and the one slip with another car was a 65 yr old in a 2011 Vette, not Z06 but he wasn't stock. His times were always 11.9x @ 118.x, crazy consistent. I beat him in the 1/8 mile but his car just edged past me at the 1/4. Last edited by amclint; 12-23-2011 at 01:11 AM.. |

I made it out to Sac Raceway lastnight and had some pretty good passes, I think I could do a little better if I had an LSD and could properly heat up my tires.

Wow there are some great times here
I know I don't have a 3 but I do have a N54, so I thought I would add my slow time on here If this is in the wrong section, please move, thanx My time is on the left This is my first time ever at the drag strip. Infineon Raceway, Sonoma CA I know it's not the fastest, but I had a great time BMW info 2008 535i JB4 Map 7 100 octane - I probably had 1 gallon of 91 before filling it up a little over 1/2 tank - no weight reduction = spare tires, me, not kidding and one in the trunk More info on slip BTW: The first run of the day my wife was in the car with me and she filmed it She/we had a great time We ran a 13.75 |
