Mod 73 - Sound System Upgrade

Finally got around to upgrading the stock sound system.

First of all big thanks to Sam and the team at Phatt Audio Concepts here in Melb. The guys did a great job on the install and tune... Really appreciate them fitting me in and getting the job done before the Tassie cruise.. Top blokes who really know their stuff...

Now to the fit out.... In the end I want to upgrade the sound, but keep the stock NBT head unit. So we ended up replacing the stock amp with an Audioson Prima AP8.9 eight channel amp, which allows the head unit signal to be cleaned up and provide an individual channel to each cluster of speakers

Focal IFBMW plug n play speakers, replaced the under seat subs and rear mid/tweeters, with the critical mass mids and tweeters providing the front sound stage.
The CMs mids and tweeters were too big to fit, so Sam did a great job building custom mounts for the front doors and pillars.
Not sure if Ill leave the speakers exposed or get some custom grills made

So was it all worth it? In short yes, crystal clear with absolutely no distortion at max volume. Very happy with the end result...

Pics below

Quoting someone else

The general silver on BMW alloys is "Reflex Silver" (Colour Code: A44/BMW WA44 MET). A lot of dealers actually spray the alloys with Titanium Silver as it's a cheaper paint.

The grey on the latest alloys is "Ferric Grey II" (Colour Code: B55 MET/BMW WB55 MET). It's more expensive and I don't think you can get proper touch up pens in that colour at the moment. I saw somewhere it costs x2-x3 as a normal paint so you normally have to pay a bit extra when getting your alloys refurbed in that colour.
