Did the new plugs cure any issues or create additional performance? Is #4's oily plug a sign of cyl issues??

I didn't have any issues before changing the plugs. but the new plugs did made a difference. Smoother, and got rid of tiny hesitancy on the throttle. No extra power, but the throttle was suprising.

#4 oil was mainly on the thread and didn't see on the tip. I'm hopeful that recent valve cover gasket and the gasket on the Valvetronic Eccentric Shaft Actuator motor that was replaced would cure that. I had massive leak at the Actuator motor gasket which is next to #4 so hopefully that was the cause..

Serf27 probably taps for a sub setup or something

Do you still have that parts car?

I sent in my first warranty claim to FCPEURO for the rear glass trim. Now I understand why they stopped paying for return postage, by the time I bought a box ($4.25) and paid postage ($17.55) I might be up $20. Plus I received tracking number on my Napa wrapped MSport wheel and should receive it by Friday.

Yeah, I hear you. Fact is that businesses (FCP, Amazon, etc.) nowadays get a tremendous cut rate on shipping due to the shippers making deals with them. But regular citizens - like us who are sending things back to them - pay full freight and then some. Same situation for nearly any return shipping. There's no incentive for companies to pay for our shipping (if it's so expensive that we don't do it...well, better for them) and the individual consumer has no leverage with the shippers.

"The UPS Store" is basically a depot for people to dump money into the business that is UPS. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

(edit...I'll concede that Amazon is generally better about return shipping. But given that they essentially own the Universe, I guess they're a special case. ;-) )

Hopefully not as I really dont want to do all that work to still have xdrive which I wanna get rid of.

Next step is filling up the transfer case because I removed the mount and it had a lot of hydraulic oil in it likely from it leaking so its probably very low.

And I’ve put together a manually adjustable transfer case actuator so I can turn on or off the clutch and hopefully have it not turn the bad bearing at all if I’m lucky.

Got my Euro airbox from UK. It came with a used filter inside of it. You would think they would remove it to save on shipping cost! No MAF sensor (which I don't care about) and one missing rubber holder which I'll be swapping my existing one to it.

All in all was about $270 CAD ~= $10 USD.
$230 CAD with currency exchange and shipping and a new filter for $40 CAD. Now let's see when this stupid winter will end so I don't freeze while I install it.

Installed a visor mount sunglasses holder. Stupid panoramic moonroof must have deleted the sunglasses holder.

Per the E70.
Got an active steering fault yesterday.
PS fluid was a tiny bit low. Added some more and error is gone. The CHF fluid is $43/qt, seems like a lot.

Btw, if you want heavier steering, throw an active steering rack in there with a fault and bam!

That Pentosin CHF Fluid has blown up in price like crypto.

I am fortunate I stocked up on a 5L jug back when it was $83 when my 335i rack blew and I replaced it with an M3 rack. I wanted to buy a 1L version too that had had the cool little green tin to have on hand to dilute the big jug but looks like that may not be financially responsible these days (as if having a budget for my 335i was my primary concern! )

If you want to see heavy steering, drive an M3 rack swapped car without Servotronic retrofitted yet. All my F30 buddies can't hang, it's a workout!

EDIT
Turns out Amazon still has Pentosin CHF at a reasonable price. Not as cheap as I picked mine up at, but significantly better than $45 a tin
I went ahead and ordered a 1L Tin to have on hand to decant my 5L jug. They also have that 5L Jug still available at slightly more than $85 but still much better than the going rate

5L will be all you need for a very long while tbh

EDIT 2
Turns out ECS/Turner still have Pentosin CHF 11S at a reasonable price too. They also have CHF with a cool red cap at almost half the price of a 1L Tin from Amazon although I am not aware of what the differences between the "Green Sticker" and Red Cap version is

No kidding about the workout! First step in the diagnostic is to turn the wheel side to side 3 times.
I must’ve done it 30x yesterday trying to rid the code. Probably should’ve checked the fluid level first.

The M Sport wheel arrived and installed it. I listed the old wheel in the classified section if anyone's interested.

Coded in the weather band, comfort close, and added back the wood lid which was deleted on 2010-2012 E9x models.

Car is booked for an alignment on Monday, and then brakes on Tuesday. Getting vibration in my steering wheel when applying the brakes, light/medium effort at hwy speeds. BMW says my control arms are fine, so front rotors it is.

Amazingly they’re the original pads/rotors on both axles.

I paid $350 for it and transferred the control buttons and trim from the old wheel.

Thanks, I'm personally more partial to the flat bottom design with extra thumb rests

How is the thickness compared to the stock M sport wheel? Is the leather softer?
