Replaced the transfer case in the e92 with a unit I found on eBay from a 335 with 100k miles. First thing I did was check the fluid and it was very low in it, that’s how these things fail, changed it and installed in the car and it’s driving great.

Hadn’t driven it around for almost a month, definitely need to do some mods to the e91 because this pulls way harder than the stock 328.

Took advantage of the Spring weather to get a quick video of my new exhaust. Previous post is kinda useless without it

Revs were not higher than 3500rpms in this video. Burbles are from the exhaust, DME is completely stock without burble tunes; you can hear faint spool on the revs

Topped off the A/C refrigerant this morning. Noticed on the really warm days it struggled to keep up. Not exactly sure how much 134a I added, was very little.

Low pressure cycles between 25-33 now. High pressure peaked about 165. 55*f ambient today.

Not warm enough to see what difference it made yet but I am sure it can't hurt.

Did plugs and coils on 11 335i was having misfires on random cylinders and changed plugs and changed order of coils on 07 328i it had bad fall on it's face today on way to work so called in and took day off. Resolved that plugs were rubbish, should have ordered the plugs when I go new coils but cheaped out and did not. Now both are running very smoothly.

Serf27 those last two were the ones thanks! Planning on doing nicer vacuum hose routing for my next exhaust setup and these would be perfect

What did I do to my car today.. Discovered my headlight still has a condensation issue

Break a stud on the strut mount. It did feel like a lot for 25 ft/lbs but wasn’t expecting the torque wrench to say F U….

Replaced drivers side headlight ballast. Since water got into the headlight somehow, bmw decided to use a sensitive electrical part as a sump effectively at the lowest part of the headlight. The thing was soaked through.

My drivers seat and door armrest have some wear marks so I ordered a leather repair kit from Auto Leather Dye. I look forward to getting the little things taken care of and the 10% discount made it simple to order.

Productive midweek weekend

•New windshield, condensation sensor (got an error for that awhile back), wipers
•Installed a full ACC stalk assembly, SAS errors wouldn't go away with calibration, coded to VO and all was good.
•Attempted to replace my broken NRW paddle adapter, broke the new one during install. This paddle has tested me from the beginning..
•Moved the interior junk to the trunk
•Cleaned up the wiring in the engine bay- in preparation for M3 cowl mod
•Cleaned catch can- winter frappe mix with 3/4" of water at the bottom! (Hey, its been sitting for over a year)
•Alignment- still quite negative camber, will need to roll rear quarters and take a 3" hole saw to the strut tower to fix that. For now I'll just have to eat tires lol
•"fixed" my headlight leveling problem. Somehow the rear rod bracket got slightly bent like a banana. The main issue was the speed nut that clips into place on the control arm somehow bent and came out. Got creative with that till I can replace both of them. Since it wouldn't clip in I held it from the bottom with needle nose as I tightened it
•Discovered what happens when you leave your 2x4 wheel chock in place while driving down the ramps when the butt is in the air. That was a shock. Kinda fun though lol.

Replaced the DMTL pump.

Since issues here that turn on the SES light could be several things, I was somewhat anxious when I'd finally read enough and run ISTA enough (getting different yet frequently related errors each time and checking obvious stuff like fuses) to decide to just order and replace the pump. I do know that the loud buzzing that I used to hear each time I shut off the car had stopped...so for one reason or another the pump was no longer running. OK, change the pump.

For the first day after and driving around, I thought I'd actually NOT fixed the problem as there was still no buzzing when I shut off the car. And yet, the SES light hadn't come back on. So......

Until yesterday when I again came back after a drive, shut off the car, and went around to the right rear corner (where the pump/tank is on an E91...not the left side) and listened VERY carefully. Sure enough, a barely audible whirring. Moral of the story, it WAS the pump, it's now fixed, and I've apparently been driving around with a failing pump that sounded like a small coffee grinder for the past oh, 50K miles. Case closed. (I hope)

Just finished up replacing the exterior/ambient air temp sensor and the rubber trim around the back glass to get rid of the dry and cracking original stuff (and falling off lower piece)...just looked bad, soooo much better now.

I have. Seldom consistently, but more frequently at one particular station that I go to maybe every other time or so I fill up. So, it was entirely possible that it was the "pump shutting off early" thing and nothing specifically to do with my car. OR, a combination of the station and the car. The permutations are nearly endless.

I need that. And the CD changer trunk liner. Would be the perfect location for a meth setup
