To add to the list:

- Mirrors can fold in on lock
- Windows can be set to close with fob/CA instead of open
- There is a UK English iDrive voice
- NOAA Weather band radio is an accessible option
- The OBC has a velocity display
- Some later 3-series can have HP & torque graphs in iDrive
- The doors can be set to automatically unlock after the engine is shut off
- The key fob can be set to automatically eject after the engine is shut off
- The OBC has 3 levels of headlight sensitivity that you can adjust
- There is a 2nd threshold of adaptive brake force display that flashes the brake lights when ABS is activated
- The car can be classified as a police vehicle. I don't know what this does.
- Oil change intervals can be automatically set to 7,500 & 10,000 miles instead of 15,000
- The wipers can be set to fully complete their wipe and return to the park position if you lock the car and they're mid-wipe
- N55 vehicles can get the Performance Power Kit flash for free
I've already coded most of this in my e91 where supported but never knew about a UK English iDrive voice, where do you set or code that?

Was reading an original sticker window and saw brake fade compensation, brake drying, and brake standby feature. Pretty nifty! Never knew it had this. I knew it had brake force distribution but not what I just listed.

This is why the rear brakes start with a life of 45k, while the fronts, 90k lol

To cancel the turn signal, you don't push it the opposite direction. You push it slightly (not beyond the resistance point) in the same direction as the blinking side.

The blinkers are intuitive once you get used to them and now I don't like driving cars with "normal" blinkers.
heck I was doing it wrong the whole time

i guess bmw is apple on wheels.

i am pretty sure my F30 works as its supposed to be where you cancel the turn signal by pushing it in the opposite direction.

I think I read that BMW stopped making cars with this feature as of 2016MY because of complaints from people hating it being different than every car makers.
Neat little function though.

First time I drove an E90 in the rain I was basically fighting the intermittent wipers, because I had no idea it had a rain sensor. Took me awhile to figure it out and once I did I felt pretty dumb.

Just download and read the owner's manual on the beach in between staring at those luscious Brazilian butts walking by.

Push the button for the sun roof in, not forward or backward, and hold it till the sun roof slides back and then forward and closes. I'm guessing it re-sets it to it's "0" point. I had this happen last week after having the starter replaced.

Still does, I opened the door once with the seatbelt on to see how much curb space I have to reverse park into to avoid curb rashing the wheels. Still slaps it into Park lol.

(Reviving the zombies)

Must say that this whole thread have been equal part entertainment, and enrichment. 12 years and going strong!

Good summaries can be found on post #415 and #720

But if you spent the time to get to the end of the whole thread going through all the discussion and still miss something.

Kidding, it's good fun here!

No but seriously, read the manual.

I agree, post 415 I summarized in this PDF: I just learned about how to disable the mirror tip down, very interesting.

If you have the speed limit coding on where its v= 'your speed here' it maxes out to 159mph even though the car keeps climbing.

If you have never messed with adjusting the speedo to read actual speed vs. inflated via carly app or carrista it makes a difference by 3-4mph. I have it set to actual speed and speed check radars on the road confirm with the digital read out on my dash.

Agreed. Same here, except *might* be off by 1 mph from the speed check radars on occasion. I think it's because the radar stands aren't calibrated well, or they read high intentionally. But my v= always agrees with my GPS speedo.

The really annoying shit is, with the default coding, you dont even get the option to use the lock button to close everything.
