Cleaned the A/C evaporator with the Klima-Clean stuff recommended here. Worked really well, and took out a lot of grayish crap from the evap.

We’ll see how it fairs in the medium/long term. I used 1 can and might stick another can in there next week.

Oh, ordered spark plugs and filters for the 335i and the 528i. I have the PPK on the 335i and I don’t have a record of them having been changed at 45K. The 528i is just at 100k, so it’s due too.

Well there's your problem...

Idle is wandering a bit, but no codes being thrown. Popped the hood to see if I could visually determine a problem. Guessing it's the PCV system (330i remote style).

Question: Get Febi & Rein OEM parts for $215, or spring for BMW parts @ $350? Seems like they're just chunks of plastic so good place to save a Benjamin????

All the vacuum and vent lines looked okay, but whilst under the bonnet I noticed some moisture on the bottom tray on the driver's side. How many of you have been greeted by this view???

Guess it's radiator time! Original unit on a 225k mile 2006 car! Can't complain (too much).

Two days ago I installed the mr12volt A2DP MOST adapter to get bluetooth music streaming and retain steering wheel controls.

The hardware install was clean and out of sight in the trunk next to other modules. No fuse taps just tapping the MULF2 for power. Seems to be working good so far.

One thing I noticed is while streaming the audio from my Android while navigating using Google maps, there is a bit of a fade in when a new direction is spoken.

No idea why this is happening! I think the mr12volt box thinks the new spoken direction is a new track and does a fade-in. I'll have to play around with it and try to eliminate this annoyance.

Installed my new M3 cowl (finally!) as I kept breaking the stock one with the M3 strut brace, new upper windshield molding, new wipers, and spark plugs. They were all little things but I've been too busy to wrench at all lately so it was very cathartic

so sorry -
was it a puncture and the tire deflated and the car continued to drive some distance - or did the sidewall fail?

is the rim damaged (cosmetic and perhaps can be repaired?).

so grateful no one was hurt.

She picked up a construction tork style screw and drove for who knows how long. She mentioned she felt and smelt it but we see the end result.

Picked up an auto high beam mirror for $30. Too good of a deal to pass up. Also purchased an E90 M3 leather door handle for $50 from eBay. That’s the only part that fits the E90 door card-the more common E92/93 leather door handle covers don’t fit the E90 (ask me how I know…)

Got a walnut blast yesterday which SIGNIFICANTLY improved everything. Smooth idle, better throttle response, much more power based on the butt dyno. I'm finally confident taking the car to redline since I got the (new to me) car sorted out. I merged on the freeway and lost boost and got the half engine light. When I got home I found that the rubber line from one of the vacuum reservoirs had split at a fitting. I clipped the split part and reconnected, and the boost is back! Now to order some new vacuum line, 16 year old rubber tubing adjacent to the hot exhaust manifold is shot.

Anyone here good with messing with stock maps? Need to adjust the throttle mapping on an MSV80.

Replaced spark plugs on the 528i (N52) and 335i (N55).

Top are from the N52. Amazing it ran as well as it did. Truly impressed with the motor. Also shout out to the F10 chassis - took me maybe 30 min to change the plugs out. No cowls, wiring harnesses in the way. Just unbolt the vanity cover and the DME bracket, and you’re done. Stark contrast to the E90…

The ones from my N55 were definitely original. Made a huge difference too - no lurching from shifting from 2-3.

Prepping to do the radiator later today or tomorrow depending on when it is delivered. While underneath the car I replaced the rubber piece suspending the power steering hoses. Was being held up with duct tape and zip ties (quite well may I add) but doing it right now.

So, how many miles on those plugs (the ones from the N52)? Plus they look like they may not have been gaped correctly to begin with.

Around 95K I’d assume. No record of them having been replaced before.

Perhaps the gap changed over time? Not sure if BMW still stamps their OE-branded plugs or not.
