No spacer: Wheel^Hub Small spacer: Wheel^--Hub Larger spacer: Wheel^-----Hub Which one will transmit the most force to the hub? Wheels with the proper offset don't do this because there is no "flex" between the wheel and spacer, just the wheel and the hub. Your wheel bearings will wear out in both cases, just faster in the case of the spacer, because instead of 1 "connection" there are 2. Again, how much faster depends on how large of a spacer and how you drive, how heavy your wheels are, tons of things. I ran 10mm macht snell hub centric spacers on the rear of my 335 with stock wheels and wasn't too worried about it. That car also had 20k less than yours, and TBH I have no idea how long BMW wheels bearings are expected to last. Which is why I was saying if you were getting new wheels, forget the spacers and just go for the right offset, provided you can get it. If not, you can run spacers, but it's an inelegant solution. Don't hate. Its not what you know but who you know and the fact that you know where to find information when you need it.
On a different note (non-dickishly) did my material come in?

Mark i cant wait to hear that bad boy now....
Turbo Lag Drama - Part Tre Okay being that Perillo wanted $320 bananas to tell me whats wrong with turbo lag issue, I called Midwest Performance on Lake st where I had my Track Inspection and they said bring it over and we get to bottom of it for half that if not less. That shop had a lot of M3 and Porsche in it, and many of the guys from Autobahn I met have their cars worked on there, and the SA Jonathon us a nice chap. I would take to VS but its major haul from city to there and train back etc etc. I left word for Ryan at BJacobs but he is off. I can always get a 3rd opinion from BJ if it involves a major fix. But when I picked up car SA at Perillo doubted it was the turbo itself, thinks its a sensor/mechanism/ECU/DME or some other culprit, as they test drove it said the boost and turbos are working fine, its just there Lag when its hot, which makes sense as thats when it acted up both times, on the back straight hitting 4th and 110mph flat out from 2nd...When I drove it from Perillo to Lake/Asland and stomped on it, it was instant power and car slid out ![]() So fingers crossed, and prayers are appreciated... |
