Ex girlfriends crazy dog... The best part about this shot is that it is the middle shot of a sequence that i will make into a little story hopefully tomorrow. tis is about 2 or 3 frames before the dog finds out that he jumped too soon to get over the log and has an epic crash after...

it was followed up with me and her laughing hysterically for about 5-7 minutes.

No, but how did you get into that exact spot? Looks like the center of the bridge in amongst the rigging?

Yeah, SF is full of photo ops. Here's my take on the Golden Gate:

Golden Gate Bridge, looking West. by dcstep, on Flickr

I lucked out and got some decent light in the middle of the day. This is with the 5D MkII with the 24-105mm f/4L IS at 58mm.

Good ones of the bridge and Aliotos. I'll dig up one of the bridge that you have to get if you ever are back.
I can show you the spots too.

great shot, looks almost wide angle because of how far the bridge stretches.

did you make it to Alcatraz?

that's pretty much the story I think the end result was he had it lined up right, but just the wet paws made for a slippery surface and his feet came out from under him. if you see some shots of him jumping at other times, he had a plan.

I'll be home shortly, so hopefully i cam make an interesting series of pictures out of this.

That's be great.

I didn't have a lot of photography time this trip, since it was just a long weekend and we had our granddaughter with us and needed to visit our daughter a bunch.

Maybe we'll get back for a longer stay and I can get to the best spots at better times.

Thanks for the offer.

Dave

Went to Alcatraz in the 1980s.

Yeah, 58mm isn't that wide. Out at 24mm I lost the power of the bridge and the light out toward Alcatraz didn't warrant inclusion. The long line of the bridge made it work.
