So by deleting the codes, the feedback that shuts down the EGR is basically cancelled? On my non-tuned EGR block off DDE, the EGR is commanded on only for a little bit until the code is set and it shuts down the EGR to 0%. Wonder if that makes a difference to the parameters the DDE is aiming for

So what's the final verdict?
Where does one get the downpipe from? And what choices are out there for a tune? Personally I'd prefer to buy a downpipe, install it myself and get a RENNtech tune because they're local to me, so if the scheisse hits the fan at least I can get things done quicker. Then again paying $1200 for a tune is kinda steep so cheaper options would be better to consider, even if it means sending out the dde. ESS tuning also has a tuner in Miami but the price is the same as the RENNtech so no shopping around. |

Get your tune from Jarek/JR Auto. He has proven to have these cars figured out. All this coming from an Ecotune customer |

iaknown, thank you for clearing this all up for me and I'm sure others. I just picked up an '11 D 10 days ago and trying to sift through the various discussions to get a solid "what to do" was challenging. I did the DPF delete and EGR to my old 08 Dodge and it ran like a top. Looking forward to the D running strong for years to come. Again thanks for summing this up.

one last question for y'all would be ball park total price for all three items listed in previous post? Anyone have estimates to help people like me plan for the mods?

Wondering if EGR Block and Meth alone would be better to prevent or slow down Carbon Build Up (CBU). Honestly does not seem worth it in order to just keep the 335d running strong. My only interest is keeping my wife's 335d out of the shop when the warranty expires.

You will not pass OBD emissions with the plates and without a tune. I would argue you need all of the above (tune, down pipe, meth, EGR plug) for this to be a clean setup and daily driver. |

I'm not in a hurry to do this, but trying to get all the parts I need little by little. Ultimately want to have everything ready by January. I'm sure we can work something out. |
