Thank you! Oddly enough while I was cleaning it, it felt loose, but being new to the platform I didn’t know or think it was out of the ordinary. Just thought it was odd it jiggled about. Will order what it’s missing and get it back to normal. Thanks again

Wait until he finds out it has bore scoring.

I tried even hard wiring my paddles. Still did not work. I’m at a loss.

Replaced the fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator. Car wasn't holding pressure in the line between starts, all fixed up now and no more longer cranking after sitting for a while.

I had paddles stock. I'm thinking its the MFB even though this method technically bypassed that? I'm lost.

Changed a few things. Did the valve cover gasket three times, well 2.5 times. First I bolted everything down went to put coil #5 in and the gasket was out. Undid the bolts and snuck the gasket in. Great. Started the car the oil was leaking from another spot. This morning I did it again and all is well. Its be so much easier if the back lower corner didn't have so many obstructions. This is after I got all the wires out of the way. This is the second time I do it and my other car was a breeze. Same engine and harness. Also lost one of the bolts to the valve cover somehow. Probably when I was washing all the cover so luckily have my project 135 and was able to borrow a bolt to be able to complete the job.

Did the OFHG that was easy even with pulling the intake. When going over the car looking at possible bolts or gaskets I'd need I noticed if I took the plastic flange thats always brittle out of the way it'd be easier to pull one of the OFH bolts out. So I upgraded that to a billet one. It literally crumbled in my hands when I pulled it. So glad I bought the piece ahead of doing this. Did an oil change to top it all off.

Drove it this morning and gave it a wash.

Yeah, that piece is a must-change part. With the millions of N series engines out there, I'm really surprised BMW hasn't made a better part that supersedes the old one. No recall or anything, just an upgraded part like they finally did with the OFHG.

Repaired the drivers side door lock actuator after spending almost a week unlocking the car manually with the hand key…

Only spent 15 bucks for the internal parts that break and cleaned the electric motor as supposedly those get gummed up and pull too many amps, popping fuses as they age.

However in hindsight, I probably would have replaced it because fiddling with the internal parts and getting everything to line up and work well was a pain, apart from the job of replacing itself.

I dont see a date code or anything. They were pretty squishy.

I noticed these had an extra plate at the top, see on the left one. I didnt put those back in. Should I have?

I replaced them with Bilstein B4 from Strutmonkey, which made it pretty easy. It was $780 all in, plus a few hours labor.
Those gaskets prevent galvanic corrosion between the strut mounts & strut towers. Pretty cheap on FCP. Definitely need them.

They could be the plates for the rough road package. You can remove those and the car will have less rake. It leveled mine out pretty well.

Towed a trailer around 3,000 pounds with a bike on the roof from St. Louis to eastern Colorado today. 100+ degrees outside, oil temp grazed 270 a couple times, and the car is so slow lol I don't know what I was expecting, effectively doubling the weight, but it is SLOW.

Going through the mountains tomorrow will be interesting
