My brembo s bolt come loose time to time. But since I have a nylon it wont fell off. fcking annoying. and my hardware is all new. crafting precision I guess of wrong choice of metal VS heat ; metal expand too much, and keep this elastic stretch.

At 1st ; I was in the torque range, then I overtorque it, then blue lockthight, now on red.

all good since 4-5 months now.

I dont want to remove them now

really not sure if it's a must, but I was there, so a ''while I'm there''

The OEM seems to be quite good quality, they were strong for the mileage.

I went powerflex for the subframe, and SuperPro for the diff.
SuperPro diff bushing were wayyy cheaper. Will see if it last, but those will be easier to change if I have an issue.

Please let us know how much diff whine you experience with the poly diff bushings. Rear subframe refresh is also on my list of things to do and feedback on how much diff whine is present with SuperPro bushings will help me decide which bushings to get for the diff, whether M3 or poly.

sure I'll do.

Not expecting much, since everything else is OEM, including swaybar bushings.

Also, it VERY might be hard, see impossible, to butt feel this, since in the mean time I get rid of my KW V1 coilovers, go bilstein + h&r and swap the subframe from my 335 to my E91

Good to know. Just checked the other side and they were still pretty damn tight. Maybe moved a little bit.

Still scary.

I like using nord-lock lock washers on brake hardware bolts if bolt length/type and space allows.

That's a great idea as well. I never ran into issues, but that was not worth having happen again.

I recently pulled a rear subframe from a 2009 135i at a local junkyard and will be painting it as well. I recommend using POR-15 metal prep and POR-15 paint. I used their caliper paint on my calipers and it seems to be holding up. It is expensive though.

I did the inserts on my 135i and I immediately noticed the difference. The car was much more planted in the rear and there was less sway as the wheels spun for traction.

Replaced the DMTL pump, now ISTA says there’s a micro leak. Checked all of the connections, they seem tight enough.

Getting the car smoke tested tomorrow.

It's something I know I need, but definitely putting off. I need to do the guibos as well. And the trans mounts. And the shifter linkage... it never ends!

I have a set of M3 subframe bushings ready to go though!

Ah, yes. The classic "it'll be a quick fix." What I thought was a busted top mount in the rear.. Not so much the case. I was planning on throwing the 330s old suspension on this car in October. It could live with blown shocks till then, right? I ordered all new mounts, isolators, spring cups, everything. Orders still processing. Apparently it couldn't wait

As good as the groups are they can also be terrible. I've seen so many people give bad information. It's nuts. This the reason I came back to the forums. So much better here and the people actually have nice detailed builds. It's so awesome to go through some of these well put threads and see actual enthusiast doing cool stuff.

The FB groups are pretty funny sometimes.
Someone will post a photo of the half engine light, with no other info and asking for help. 99% of the responses are:

I had the same light, it’s your o2 sensor
I had the same light, it’s your gas cap
I had the same light, change the plugs
I had the same light, change this or that etc etc.

Sometimes the forum will see this shot in the dark activity.

It's not too much better here. I've seen a ton of bad advice given. One thing that comes to mind was a rough idle post and a guy said it's the EGR system and posted a photo of a block off plate that he fabricated. This was for an E90, N52 I think. EGR... wtf?

Or things like "URGENT HELP MY CAR SHUT DOWN AND DOESNT TURN OVER I SAW A PUFF OF WHITE SMOKE AND IT JUST SHUT OFF WHAT CAN IT BE? TIA"

I learned to trust the source and check post history. Certain people have a reputation of being helpful and I trust them.

I don't trust Facebook groups and I'm really skeptical of product reviews here on these forums. There's one vendor/manufacturer in particular that is extremely popular among the N54 crowd but I don't know if they actually make quality products or if they're just popular because of their aggressive marketing. I get turned off from their products even more when I see YouTube videos showing things like their charge pipes and intercoolers on straight piped cars with burble tubes, blacked out headlights, colored grille slats, etc.

and some people not used to forums believes those guys.

When he stated the N54 can hold 1200hp, nobody was arguing, and some kids were like '' really ? '' ''nice !''

And I agree, people give action and don't ask question about the issue.
The worst I saw is :
- I have a 4x4 warning on my CIC , what is it
- Answer : need to change the battery module regulator, I had same issue.

WTF, 1st should be : scan the freaking car. (inpa and ista)

I asked him to tell is BS here on e90post, and stating that I dont know shit about N54... yeah I only rebuilt them.

Not rare to see holes or 0 psi compression and the client only had a ''safe'' costum tune of 800bhp.

You simply can't dump a 7678 turbo on a stock engine. 1st, not enough fuel, second, everything else.

I think it’s the google effect as to why questions are asked with no info given. That and some probably don’t have a scanner. Lol.
People don’t think or know they will find an answer online so they ask.
I agree that sometimes the poster just isn’t used to asking questions and listens to whatever responses are given. I’m sure it works out, sometimes.

Most recent thread I saw was someone asking about a boost issue.
There was about 2-3 responses yelling out it’s the vacuum lines..

You can type the most vague search into google and something almost always pops up.

Ex: car clunks when you go into reverse, search: e90 noise reverse
Ex: you want splitters but don’t know what they’re called, image search: black pieces bmw bumper

I opened my fill plug on tranny forgetting that it needed to be running.

Dumped out some. Have to fill her back up now...

Also, lost sport mode yesterday. Will have to do some investigating. Wires or paddles. Still couldn't get the M3 shifters to work. Maybe my "Direct wiring" failed and now I lost both.

poop.

I did put my 5mm spacers on. Probably need larger if I am going to do camber. But I also want a chunkier tire up front. Decisions.
