Installed a BMW Performance SSK, weighted shift knob, and turner bushing on the 325i, MUCH better feel and engagement.

Only one problem: it collides with the driveshaft especially in 5th. Wasn't expecting this given its a OEM part, any ideas/solutions?

Pick up sunroof cassette and headliner tomorrow. That's a veterans day project after I march in local parade next month. Oh and that eyesore of a work station will be repurposed this week. I have been LAZY. Funny the shape of M-Sport is that noticeable between LCI and pre LCI.
The lci m sport offers an aggressive look over the lci non m sport.
To a random eye, the pre lci non m vs m looks almost similar, but an enthusiast could spot the difference in the lower grill area.
I am a huge fan of pre lci m sports on a pre lci car.
Both look great. I’d give the lci headlights a nice sand and buff.

LCI needs to be tucked back in garage. It's not on road right now. I had it out to make some room in the garage. I need to fit my tractor in the garage with it's snowblower as this winter I think is going to be a rough one.

Your right the lights need a buff and it also needs a great detail job done to it.

even for enthusiast it's not extremely obvious.
I have both, non-m and M and when I see a e90 on the street I need a moment to tell if it's m-sport or not.

rear bumper is easier to spot.

also 1st time I see the pre-lci m-bumper next to the lci. pre-lci are very very rare, and I'm questioning if it was even an option in north america.

the LCI shine for the non-amber headlights.
kidney grills are not that much of an upgrade imo.
And rear taillight is very subjective. The cut in them on the LCI made me think about the F&F era when people couldn't fit the rear trunk light to the fender.
Pre-lci all red mod look more ''oem clean'' if I could say. But I'll take LCi any day, because newer and led.

I'm jealous of the wagon and also the pre-lci m bumper. I'd love to get one for my e90 and keep it period correct. I see a lot of people with the M3 bumper and it doesn't look bad but I already have a 1M bumper on my e82 and done want to have M bumpers on all my non M cars lol

I used my e90 to pick up a very slightly used sparco seat to go in my e82. Managed to get some curious eyes on the e90 as I stopped for gas, hopefully they didnt see the bubbling tint in the back window as I pulled away

Nothing I do is gentle, so it can't be that delicate! :-)
I do have a trim removal set, and just start at one of the ends and work it out. I had an attachment pin break on me recently when doing the Euro rear fog light, but was able to fix it. That's the only problem I've run into.

That’s true. It takes me a second look as well to see if it’s pre lci m sport. They’re very similar, but we see the difference.
Pre lci m sport was not available in the US. I’m not sure about the rest.
I’m converting my pre lci wagon to m sport. Should be done in a few years.

The thin aluminum trim still sits on a plastic backing plate. It does flex a bit when removing but as long as you don’t purposely bend it, it clips back in.

Ordered some stuff for the e93.
The HUD unit from Amazon I put in the e90 shifted to the corner of the windshield. It looks better there.
Not much for my “what did you do”..

2013 335is E93 OEM Brake Air Ducts....??

greetings from seattle,
just purchased 2 ea genuine bmw oem brake air ducts from turner motorsport to replace them - both have uber minor cracks and just want it to be correct.

question - can i replace them without removing the front bumper by removing the front wheel well liner (the half closest to the front of the car) and reach in and be able to reach all fasteners, etc? or is is best to remove the front bumper.

thank you for your perspective.

For what it’s worth, on my E90 sedan I was able to remove the ducts without removing the bumper (just wanted to clean them, in my case). It is a lot easier to remove the bumper though. I ended up removing the bumper anyway to restore the headlights.

For me, filled and bled the cooling system, new radiator + upper rad hose installed. The Rein hose I took out had a blocked-off nipple for the upper expansion tank hose too. Absolute junk.

Filled a quart of oil too (indicator came on) - right on the dot, 7500 miles since my last oil change. So I guess I need to book an appointment now. Hopefully 2024 is a lot less maintenance-intensive than this year…

doing the same, I have most of the parts ;
- steering wheel, bumpers (back is from sedan tho...), shifter, handbrake.
I'm missing wheels, doorsills and technically rear bumper if I dont want to cut and glue.

thank you hoody,
to access the front brake air ducts, did you remove the LF and RF wheel well liners (the 1/2 closest to the front of the car) to access the ducts?

additionally, sounds like it was very difficult to access the fasteners??

from realoem:
10 Hex head screw with washer ST 4,8X25 ZNS3 4ea 07119905241 $0.27
11 Hex head screw 2ea 07147151963 $0.29

Yes - but I only removed the driver side one. The passenger side one would probably be more difficult as the oil cooler is there too. Thinking about it, doesn’t the 335is also have an additional water cooler? If so you’re probably best off removing the bumper.

Here’s my old lci wagon. I did a full m sport conversion. You could not tell the difference between this and an m sport, unless you looked at the vin or are a true enthusiast of the chassis. .
I cut the rear bumper and mated to an e90 m sport bumper.
It was a lot of work to do the conversion, reason why my pre lci will take some time to finish.

very good point; yes - the LF fender well has an additional water coolant heat exchanger for the 335is.

the dealer i purchased the car from had the car serviced prior to sale; there was a code for a front bumper parking sensor and the repair shop removed the bumper to replace the sensor; the dimwits cut a hole in the LF wheel well liner to access the fastener that connects the left fender to the front bumper (see pic)....i am replacing the referenced fender liner to correct what the trained professionals created.

all things considered, i will remove the front bumper for the removal/replacement of both brake air ducts.

if i may - i've watched a number of how-to videos re front bumper removal....do you have any thoughts to add that i should watch for - thank you.

@e93seattle.
That is not a factory bolt holding the bumper on.
The fender has a plastic bracket and coarse 8mm screws into it and holds the bumper on.
Looks like your plastic bracket on the fender is broken and someone used a bolt and nut to mount the bumper.

more insult to injury by the dimwits - thank you serf.

i presume the right side has a fastener for the fender-to-bumper as well that is accessible by removing the right wheel well liner (closest to the front of the car)....correct? if yes, this location has the oil cooler heat exchanger located in the lower area....perhaps just removing the wheel well liner fasteners would allow enough flex for the liner to be pulled back just a bit to access the referenced fender-to-bumper fastener??

Here's the procedure to install the bumper - seems to be identical for all E9x models. You can also purchase the correct bumper bracket which is either damaged or (probably) missing (p/n 51117227897)
Front Bumper Removal.pdf

And since I have a feeling you're as retentive as me, here's the gap dimensions for the front bumper install: Gap dimensions E93.pdf
