We had a brief round of sleet falling here around noon! Stop me if you've heard me say this before, but I think that it was winter's last hurrah for us for real this time. The highs for the next week will be average to +15 F above average.....

Lots of pollen and a light rain make for a very, very dirty car.

Kinda glad to be back at work. Kinda
58 and sunny, but 58 is a bit chilly to be wandering around in shorts and maybe a T. Since I have to wear pants and a shirt to work, it's good to be 58. The rest of the week, in Ixtapan, Mexico, is supposed to be near 90. And since pool/shorts/margaritas, that will be A-OK!!! |

It's 80 F (as in fscking) degrees and sunny here this afternoon, and will be about 5 F hotter tomorrow if the forecast verifies.
I'm *very* close to firing up the central AC, since it's currently 76 F indoors with all of the windows open.....

It only got into the mid 70s here today. Forecast for tomorrow is mid 80s. Will definitely fire up the A/C tomorrow morning when I leave for work. There is no way I’ll sleep tomorrow night if it’s warm in the house.

When it hit 80 F indoors about 15 minutes ago, I closed the windows and fired up the central air conditioner slash heat pump for the first time since Christmas Eve (when our boiler was out of action and we needed it for heat). OCD psycho dog was sprawled out on the hardwood floor with his paws in the air trying to cool off, so it is time to officially welcome summer here. Already down to 75 degrees inside.....

Daytime temps show 50s to 70s for the next week but overnight temps still in the 30s and 40s. I want to put my big girl wheels on, damn it!

I'd rather have snows on for longer than necessary than be caught in cold temps with summers. No grippy, no good. I got caught a few cars ago with summers in cold dry weather because the snows weren't available yet and it was dicey as far as stopping power.

It was already 79 F at 9:15 AM this morning here! The heat pump was cranking out cold all night, and it was a nippy 66 F inside when I woke up.
Unfortunately, that cool was short-lived. My DW saw a single/lone spider in the foyer at 5 AM, and must have sprayed 5 cans of Raid rather than waking me up to squish it. Every window in the house is open and vent fans running, but my nose still only smells bug killer even now at 11 AM. OCD psycho dog let himself outside to nap on the deck, because his big sniffer must be even more messed up than mine is by the death cloud. Oh, and because I'm not my parents, the AC is still cranking even though the windows are open and fans on. I need to flush the bug spray vapors out of the AC return ducts before it gets any warmer outside.....
