The Pre-LCI E90s all had that 4 piece "Mustache" grille. However, the E90 M3's have always been different. They have different bumpers (obviously), headlights, grills and hoods.

Let's hope not. An S5 would be hugely less fun to drive than his E92.

Yeah, pretty different (more aggressive) headlights too.

I just got done putting the Mtech Rear Bumper on. What a doozy! Was harder than I thought because of my stock bumper wouldn't budge. I brought my trunk to Rogers Collision in Bloomington to get painted. Monday is when SA, John V said it would be done. LCI tails are here also on monday.

Good lord! I don't look on the forum for 24 hours and there is already nearly two full pages of posts! Lots of catching up to do.

That is one of the most bad ass cars there is. Anyone seen the new version of the Thomas Crown Affair?... he has one.

Only thing to decide when you buy one is whether or not you want to drive it or be driven in it...

I have Michelin Alpins. 235s up front and 255s in the back. To be fair, the driveway to my house is horrible in the snow. Steep incline with unplowed snow.

New Year's Eve Idea!

Guys,

I've made a tentative reservation at Pinstripes in Edina for New Year's eve. The spot has good food, bowling, and bacci ball. Please keep in mind that I've only made a tentative reservation for dinner at 8:15 if anyone is interested. If we don't get a group together I will just cancel and we can do our own thing.

http://blogs.citypages.com/food/2010...ripes_comi.php

I chose pinstripes for a number of reasons. It won't be super intensive like the downtown bars and clubs. It has convenient parking, which is important for us car enthusiasts. It is also conveniently located and easily accessible to most people. I can also make the reservations earlier so we can just get together for dinner and head our separate ways if we want to.

Let me know who is in and the number per person and we can try to make this work!

Cheers,
Anvar

Hahha you're not going to let me live this down are you?! Change is the only constant (taking the philosophical approach here)

I will still contend that the Remus Race is hands down one of the best mods I've done to date.

I came really close to buying an Audi S4 (v8). Put down a deposit, but a drive in a G35 changed those plans. Goes to show how little it took to convert me from an Audi. I think I am sticking to bimmers for a while.

I've been driving around on my run flats the last couple of days absolutly terrible. I did find out today that with DSC on (pushing the DTC button once) that the car is allowed to get a little more out of shape but not so much you'll spin out; actually makes it a bit easier to get around (and more fun). Regardless though, I have to be very careful where I drive otherwise I'll get stuck (no hills for me). It's funny how much better my g-Force's were in the snow; night and day. The run flats ride a lot better and are much quiter though...

Nick
If you're saying the runflats ride better and are quieter, I can't imagine how horrible those gforces must have been!

I am confused! Are you driving with a bumper with no taillights at the moment?

Is it more difficult to colour match with a "complicated" colour like black sapphire or jerez black?

Purchased from Fields BMW in Northfield IL. I drove several M3's locally but never test drove the one i finally purchased in IL. I had a fairly specific list of options including white/fox red and found this one online. I figured worst case senario I would have it inspected and waste the transpotation costs to and from if I thought there was a problem. $350 CHI to a few miles away from my house - Alpine Auto Transport out of WI did a graet job (not to be confused with the Alpine out of UT that is a broker)

Anyways, everything turned out OK. It was WAY less expensive than anything I could find in MN. BMW MTKA would't budge on thier '08 with 30K+ miles @ $55K and there wasn't much else. I travel alot to Dallas and Los Angeles and cars are less expensive there too. Finally I just did a search on cars.com for the color combo I wanted and fount the one I bought. By the way, LA eas 3-4K less than MN and TX was even better...

Great color! I purchased mine in Illinois. Almost bought a F150 for the winter but decisied that I was undecided on what to get. It took me a year to decide to by another M3 so you can see I have problem when it comes to buying cars.

Nice story! I didn't find anything in Minnesota either so I ended up buying my car from Isringhausen in Springfield. Prior to this car, I had an irrational mental block against buying from out of state, and like you I was pretty specific about what I wanted. In the end, I ended up driving my 135i to Springfield and driving the M3 back. It was a great trip

I just picked up a set of rims and tire from tirerack but I didn't go with the recommended setup - I chose to sacrifice handling performance for snow and ice performance. I went with the rims they had for the M3 but I had them put the Blizzak WS 70's in a 225/45/18. They seem much LESS sloppy than the WS 50's I had on the E46 and they are amazing on ice and snow! Warning - the first 300-500 miles scared me!!!!! SLIPPERY!!!
