I had a range of $1900-$4400 and I couldn't justify the high quote, the $1900 job looks great and it only took four days.

In my mind I've been saying $2000.

Hit the quote icon on the bottom right of the post you want to respond to. When the quote turns RED, go on as if you were making a post. You should see the post you are responding to on top of whatever you right. Kinda busted description, but I hope it helps you.

Can’t wait to get home from Christmas with the family and take the touring for a spin. Gn friends

Ordered a new start-stop button (well a used one from eBay). Went for a pre-LCI one as I like the thicker chrome surround and the button seems to hold up better.

Ordered a full coolant system overhaul: WP, T-Stat, Upper/Lower Hoses, T-Stat/WP Hose, expansion tank hoses and radiator @ 93k Miles. On my third expansion tank now.

First time being left stranded in 14 years of driving BMWs. Engine overheated on freeway incline, DME code said coolant system blockage - water pump disabled. Let it cool down for 20 mins and drove it to the next offramp while monitoring coolant temps in the secret menu on kombi. PSA not to wait for WP codes to appear before replacing, mine did not show any last month when scanned.

Differential fluid change. All fluids on the E90 are now fresh within past 15K miles.

New trans pan on the fresh 8hp swap. Suprised to find straightsixauto shipped my 8hp45 filled with fluid. Old fluid was clean— Looks like the transmission had been serviced before. Now onto oil cooler line adapters.

Sounds good! I can fix that

Onto things done for the day:
Yesterday while in the process of servicing the transmission (had to replace selector rod, no reverse) on the 328, the seal for the new filter broke. They don't sell them separately.. Another new filter will be here the 10th. There was also 1/4” play between clutch plates. Excellent. If it fails early now that I gotta dump new fluid in, I have an extra 6hp from a 335 I can swap in.

Today I went for a spirited back road drive with the 330, it's always fun putting it through its paces

Put in my 2nd lpfp this year. I went cheap on the pump, and now I'm paying for it. I can do it in about half-hour though.

unsure if you've seen these; i built them and perhaps they could be "taller" if built into the design.

my search for car ramps led me to seek other options due to failures of ramps that are horrific - here's one from an online search:

"Just don't! I know a lot of folks seem to have good luck with these, but after my experience I'd call it luck lol. Not my first rodeo. Not user error, just poor construction. Lined up properly, not over limit, no sudden acceleration or breaking... as soon as I crested the top of the ramp both ramps, not just one, shattered. I wouldn't trust my life to these ever again. This was first use of this set. Invest in a better means of lifting your vehicle. A simple flaw could squash you."

i began a search and found the following (link below); it looked so reasonable that i built my own; total cost was $60; the risks are zero; stacked 2 x 8's on top of each other and screwed together WILL NOT COLLAPSE; i chose to bevel (45 degree) cut the first ramp the tire touches to ease the car onto the ramp; the incredibly inventive design of once the car is on the top ramp, the lower section can be swung out of the way to allow access:

I'm curious, did you get around testing the resistance values of your old spark plugs?

Not yet... they are still setting on the bench in the shop. The transmission fluid/filter took a bit longer after I tried to mangle my hand up taking the fill plug out.

Thought I was reassembling my interior after the carpets and floorboards were dry. I had a leak through the blower motor from an improperly installed windshield by the previous owner.

Moral of the story, pull your entire underseat subwoofer enclosure (not just the speaker) as the indent in the floorboard can hold water even if everything looks dry.

Hey guys, I've been away for a bit but am back. My e90 had a wobble as if it was ridding on eggs however it was not always the case as it would come and go. Out of nowhere I got the service light for the rear pads. I went to look at the wire as I did these less than a year ago and the sensor had wires exposed as if it has come loose and broke somehow and the plastic peace at the end was gone. I had another sensor laying around and went to replace the wire and to my surprise the inside pad was almost down to metal. I ordered pads and rotors as they most likely were original and had a nice lip on them and this Saturday I took the time to replace them. Noticed the guide pins had dried up lubricant and would not slide out very easily. Cleaned everything up and used a wire wheel to clean them up but made sure to not be too harsh with it. New lubricant and put everything back together and the car is smooth again. Well, as smooth as it will be for now as my passenger side front bearing is making some noise.

I also added a USB power source under the center console so no more wire dangling from my JB4 into the cabin as it is all hidden. I've been using this particular plug in on my e82 for a while and never had issues so I bought another one for the e90.
