Yea Patrick is pretty strict about the yearly oil change. They wont give me an appointment until its EXACTLY 1 year after i purchased the car. Then its the same date every year after that. Wont give it to me any sooner.

Then again i think all dealers follow this rule when it comes to the yearly oil change, no? Its a BMW thing, not dealers.

I been going to Patrick since 2002 and never had any issues though.

With my 335, I had no problem getting my last change done under warranty even though it hadn't been a complete year and I wasn't due on mileage. The maintenance contract consists of either an oil change every 15k or 1 per year. If you're on the 15k plan, your warranty will expire before your 4th oil change as you will be over 15k. However, in order for what Patrick told me to be true, you would have to schedule your yearly oil change to the exact date in order to reap what the contract says your entitled to - an annual oil change, for 4 years. Say my car was in service in 2007, that gives me 07-08 (1200 service most of the time), 08-09, 09-10, 10-11. Expecting the previous owner of my car, or myself, to literally save the date "June 5" every year for something as seemingly rudimentary as an oil change is ridiculous.

In the end, it's the biggest issue one could have with a dealer. However, it's just becoming tiring to have to fight tooth and nail over this shit with BMW service. I had the same problem with Bill Jacobs, when they told me they were not correcting the sway bars on my car, but mentioned a few other things that needed service, and were covered, (such as a torn CV boot) I had to actually make the drive there and meet with the Service Supervisor before the work was done. From the NW burbs, in rush hour, that's a 3.5 hr round trip.

I really hate to be the guy saying "I'm young so they are trying to fuck me over" but I've yet to have a experience without any issues (though MW has been by far the best). I don't ask for ridiculous things for free, I'm well spoken & polite, dressed presentably, but it seems to never fail. I'm glad my warranty will be expiring soon, and couldn't help smirking at the irony yesterday when they guy tried to sell me an extended warranty/maintenance contract. Yea, right.
