If I could find an original never refinished set it would be awesome but doubt there’s many out there anymore.

I love that set, and they would look so great on my E91... but just can't justify it. Looks like they did a good job refurbishing them as well. Seller has a few others, so might be one to follow or hit them up to see what's in the pipeline. Shipping to the States is pretty reasonable IMO as well!
Speaking of said car, I just got the quote to get the paint fixed on the E91... $3,800 for three panels! Really bummed it was that high... I was mentally budgeting around $2k for it. |

I've had my 330's replacement sitting in a box for months. Dreading doing it lol. Need to fix a washer fluid leak on the 328 too. I seriously cannot get over how inconvenient it is to fix these issues

This was two w/ clearcoat, and one needing painting. Really a bummer finding out its that high. I'll look around and try to find a guy that'll do it in his garage somewhere... doesn't need to be factory fresh, just better than it currently is! Wish me luck!

I'd expect up to $5k for a full car, but it depends on the area. Don't go with a cheap paint job. Do it nice or do it twice. Another option is to hunt down used panels in the same colour and swap them. Your lighter shade may show the differences though. |

I'd like to find a front fender, but Montago Blue isn't too common
That would be the best move for me, as it would probably match pretty well. Plus I can bolt it on myself... no coding necessary! Last edited by StradaRedlands; 01-25-2024 at 08:19 PM.. |

Good Luck! Curious if this quote was with a BMW certified paint shop or even a shop setup with their refinishing materials. Material costs and shop/regulatory costs are way up lately and probably aren't helping the quote. Been trying to avoid the dealership paint shop as assume they will quote much higher.

It was finally not raining and warm enough for me to be outside.
I replaced the hood struts, tested the new starter (and confirmed the old one was dead as a door nail), cleaned the engine up, tried to install the new starter but couldn’t find the new bolts, attempted to change the oil pressure switch, but couldn’t get it to budge, and organized all the parts that are quickly piling up in my garage (and still couldn’t find the bolts). |

was thinking about the high cost(s) you noted for paint repair and wondered if this is an option; you could do all the prep and perhaps even use high quality aerosol cans to prime the areas, and then collaborate with a local auto body shop and you could apply the color; unsure of the cure time between the color coat and the final clear coat....just a thought: https://www.cutandbuff.com/articles/...to-paint-booth |

saw that in one of your recent posts that you're lookiing for a replacement part (fender?) in your specific color. if/when you get to the point to repaint, your resourcefulness is incredible (ie: junkyard mega-finds, etc) and you are fully capable to do this yourself. |

I would LOOOOVE to find a replacement fender in the same color... eight bolts, probably a half hour work. I checked every LKQ within 60 miles and nothing right now! |

That's what I've been doing, but their search engine is a potato. They don't have VINs on the cars, so no idea what type of blue it is when it says blue. Plus no pictures, so can't really judge the condition.
I found this place, and can't beat the price: https://paintnship.com/collections/2...30180596547641 But would much rather get something used so it's weathered/worn and matches the rest of the car's 15 year old paint! Last edited by StradaRedlands; 01-27-2024 at 10:39 PM.. |
