I vote for Antoine as an instructor in the hopes of getting coffee at these events!! Not any kind of coffee, one that passes his standards!!!

I was surprised that an old client/friend from Trac racing was a instructor at a BMW event, Vincent Basile, he also raced in the touring championship back then with Stéphane Trahan. God I'm happy i'm not in that industry anymore.

I was hoping to find someone with infusion experience on how to reduce the print-thru of the resin mesh thru the peel-ply. I can live with the dull finish from the peel-ply (would love to try and find a product that left it less dull - I don't need any secondary bonding), but the diamond mesh print thru is a killer.

Hi guys, I need some recommendations on shops/garages in Montreal or Laval or South Shore!!
1. Spring installation - Ive done them on my previous cars and always something goes wrong, taking way more time than hoped (ex. Seized bolts, etc.) 2. Front bumper re-paint - after so many rock chips, i think its time for a fresh paint. So any good body shop? 3. Front lip installation - I ordered aftermarket front lip and the fitment is not 100%. Requires some shaving here and there. Possibly same shop as bumper repaint? I would like to find a shop with good work with reasonable pricing.. Dont want to pay some ridiculous amount for bumper repaint, or spring installation (VAG quoted me 600 for spring installation + alignment. I laughed and hung up) How much should I expect to pay for each? Its for 2010 e92 M3, silverstone II

Go see my mechanic for the spring installation and then go to Garbis or some other place for the alignment.
I think Touchette has good alignment machine also?

Had my alignment done at VAG and installed the suspension myself with hand tools, Garbis is WAY too expensive for alignment, I did have my fenders rolled there, good guy.

Despite being expensive, Garbis is pretty good with alignments.
However, I would not have any mechanical work done there. I had him install my camber plates. He miss-installed one and broke one of the studs. He never told me. I found out one of the studs was broken once at the track. I ordered replacement backing plate from GC (which they sold me for a very decent price). When I went back to Garbis to replace the damaged backing plate, upon removal, I noticed it was completely twisted. From the damage, it was clear to me that the plate was not properly seated when it was originally installed. This caused the plate to twist and brake off the stud. Garbis refused to take any fault and blamed it on a defective part. I am a mechanical engineer, a figuring what causes things to break is what I do professionally... I paid him the $300 he charged me to fix the plate and decided not to go back. Last edited by CanAutM3; 09-07-2013 at 04:34 PM.. |
