Having to decide which of four vehicles in the driveway to take whenever I have to go out to pick up another case of bottled glacier water.....

Mine is when banks insist on sending unencrypted messages to their clients rather than messaging them through their app. Perhaps they think it's more convenient, and it may take a class action law suit to put an end to the practice.

Our home well water is absolutely non-potable even after multi-stage treatment, and actually eats through copper pipes. (I have a plumber booked to replace every pipe in our house with PEX, because I have had enough of 3:00 AM basement flood alarms from burst pipes.) We have weekly deliveries of water cooler bottles to our house, and typically go through 25+ gallons of spring water per week for two people in our water cooler. Several of our neighbors also have weekly deliveries of 4-5 five gallon water cooler bottles. The break-even point between bottled water deliveries and drilling a deeper well into the next vein is over 28 years before the well would be cheaper than the bottled water, with no guarantee *that* water will be any better than what we have. Ironically, there are charities working to provide clean drinking water to third-world countries.....

I think that the worst water problem in the northeast is in Newark, NJ right now (Google it). They have a major problem with lead leeching off the inside of their ancient water mains and service lines. Apparently, they didn't learn anything from the Roman Empire when they built the Newark water system back in the day.....

To maintain the existing mount and shelving for the TV in the kitchen, I have to stay at 43" or less.
The good news is that 4K TV with built-in Fire AND a Sony soundbar would be less than $500. |

My neighborhood has lost power. First time in years we've had an outage that lasted more than a few seconds. Just our street. I can see the houses across the road behind our house still have power. Now I'm jealous.
Luckily my laptop and our Mifi are both fully charged. Cold here, though. I hope they get this reset before the cold seeps into the house.

PFOS is perfluorooctane sulfonate, which the 3M Company and others used for years to make firefighting foam. Now, years later, these chemicals have seeped into the water supply in many communities. Murf Last edited by Littlebear; 01-24-2021 at 12:15 PM.. |

My little Mongrel got me up for a walk at 3a last night because he had the Hershey Squirts.
I'm going to be cranky today (more than usual, that is). Murf |

It took the company I work for a year to approve T&C's on a piece of equipment that I've been trying to buy for a year and half. The first worldness of this, is that the piece of equipment if basically a $50K toy (brand new electric Genie boom lift) for me.

Not a toy at all. We have both a boom lift and a scissor lift and we couldn't live without one. What we really need is our own portable air compressor. It cost $5k a week to rent one.

I resigned from my job today and my boss was not very nice to me about it. As if moving isn't stressful enough.
Oh and I had a nail in the sidewall of my tire this morning. As if moving isn't expensive enough! |

I think the actual act of moving sucks but the getting to know a new area, new restaurants, sights/etc is very exciting. Luckily I think I have found my home until I take a dirt nap. Best of luck to you on your new endeavor |

I also managed to snag this gem, brand new for less than $40k. Only because the sales girl is new, not on commission yet and their company is struggling. I came out like a rock star all the way around on this one. Is that $5k/week for your mobile compressor include fuel? It's been a while since I've rented one. |
