Where do I start? LOL

Replaced the passenger front wheel bearing this weekend. Was a pain but it was also my first one. I bought 3 sets of tools and noticed one of them wasn't big enough to be used as intended. More on this;

I bought a sliding hammer puller, a bearing separator (not big enough for our AWD front bearing), and a bearing remover/installer kit.

While doing the work the bearing separator was to be used on the hub but was not big enough to for it to fit around the hub to push the bearing off. Luckily there was a small lip wear the bearing split apart from the hub and I was able to use that to pull it off the hub. Keep this in mind if you ever order this tool from harbor freight. Everything else went smooth although a lot of the bolts have not been moved since the car was built so they were torqued down pretty good.

Got the job done took it for a ride and all was well until I noticed some noise still coming the front end like a bad bearing, although the car was smoother the noise/vibration was a bit faint at this point but still there. Yesterday at work I put the car on the lift and noticed the driver side wheel was bent...... Today I'm going to swap front wheel as the tires are not directional and see if the noise follows the wheel. I'll let you guys know what happens and if I'll be ordering new wheels soon.

I've always gotten 10+ years out of OE BMW batteries. Definitely get another if you can!

Finally an error free dash! All issues stemmed from the PO. I fixed
-headlight aim controller
-fog lights were unplugged (had to buy 9006-H11 adapters)
-TPMS light (no sensors in aftermarket wheels and tires. Sidebar: why the hell do you spend 3k on wheels and tires and don't bother putting sensors in them? They're less than $200?!? )
-Comfort access (keys are replacements and weren't coded to the car properly)

For a second I was like, sensors? This isn’t an f31… then I remembered that later e90s used pressure sensors instead of wheel speed off the abs.

But still even f31 sensors could be had for $30 a pop if you knew who had the good working knockoffs on eBay.

The noise/vibration followed the wheel so new wheels have been ordered. I ordered from ECS tuning as they now have lifetime replacement and I went with the Alzor 030 wheels 19 inch staggered fitment. I'm familiar with the brand as I have a lot of friends driving VW/Audi cars and Alzors are popular in that world for OEM rep wheels. When I first purchased the car it actually had the same wheels maybe a different brand and I really liked them so I'm excited to have a new pair installed. I guess purchasing wheels kinda falls on what I did "to" my car today? lol

Congrats on figuring it out! Hopefully they still had the 25% off aka buy 3 get one free sale. I had the Alzor 758 (19” CS 666m reps) amd for the pricing they were very good. Some fiddle bit as far as peeling off the Alzor center cap sticker amd finding the correct MM for bmw sticke, but they were straight, well OCd and never had a lock of trouble with them, except cleaning them opener 50-75 miles, aka once a week.

Thank you! Yes the sale was still on which made it that much more appealing. I couldn’t find another set of wheels that I liked locally or even anything that was around that price. Plus buying a used set is a gamble as you never really know how they are until you put them on the car and hope for no vibrations or feel like you’re riding on eggs. Plus having the lifetime replacement is a no brainer. The previous owner of the car wasn’t too good with keeping up on the cleaning so it made it harder for me however they do look fantastic once nice and clean against the black sapphire paint.

Sold it. Was sad to see it go but since I recently picked up an e92 M3, it was time to let the e93 go. Sold it to a guy on here who was buying for his wife as her first car.

Installed an M3 steering wheel to replace the Royal Custom retrimmed M-Sport one I had before. Shoutout to Bdh821 for selling me the mint M3 wheel.

Also replaced the trunk button because of the peeling rubber that felt kinda gross when you touched it.

Got rid of the smoked tail lights. I went into this thinking there was a film on them, but turns out they were sprayed. A LOT of sanding and a few coats of clear later the backside of my new ride looks nice and fresh!

Took it to Bmwcca meet

And then spectated a car show. Parked next to a nice z4, is that merlot?

Last night replaced e90 L7 center channel speaker with f30 hifi center channel. Cheaper, easier to source and also Notably better sound. ($55 for a full f30 set, vs $40 for a single L7 center) Will later replace rest of L7 door speaker with rest of f30 hifi as well.

From memory i don't think there is a skeleton behind the grill. however pretty sure there is a thin layer of foam under the speaker grill.

Might I suggest opening the tabs, sliding the metal grill out and scrubbing the decomposing foam off it? It’s fine when new but once it starts breaking down (and that one is) getting rid of it opens the sound back up a bit. You get jsut a little more upper end out of them amd the sound less muffled.

Plus the tie fighter/millenium falcon look is awesome.

I’m most def gonna be cleaning mine out when I swap the f30 speakers in.
