Mert335d I didn't have to cut any pins, the CF to IDE adapter linked worked plug-and-play (assuming a good image of the original drive)

Closer look at the syba adapter, the pin for P-ATA key is obstructing at P-ATA <=> USB adapter. Wondering how it connects without cutting the pin? Does anyone has experience?

Czywa, I will pull an image from my unit in a month or so, may be able to help you. Mine is North America CIC. However, I have no clue on how to make it work on a unit with different VIN or activation stuff.

Do you guys think we'll be able to use a CF to SD adapter? Compact flash has not followed the price trend of SD cards...

I successfully backed up my HDD from my CIC with HDD GURU 1.10.
You have to cut the right PIN in order to connect the Adapter. You can check it with the Picture. In the next weeks I am gonna copy the RAW Image file to my Compact Flash Card 128GB from SanDisk. I will keep you guys updated ! |

Thanks to Jagaer for that great tutorial.
When my mSATA fails I just tried the CF-solution. Here the parts I used: 128GB Komputerbay CF-Card The Syba-Adapter wasn't available in Germany so I tried this one which seems very similar to me. Inline CF-Adapter I used the bit-by-bit copy from original HDD and cloned it with "dd" command to the CF card. Afterward I was able to mount the CF-Card via the inline-adapter unter QNX but the CIC doesn't realize any partition. No maps, no music Maybe the CF-Card is here the problem. Did anyone successfully check this CF-Card? Last edited by kiese; 01-29-2022 at 11:25 AM.. |

In addition to my previous comment, the following information about the CF card used. This is not recognized by the CIC and has now been exchanged for a Sundisk Extreme Pro.
https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 This works perfectly As useful additional information it should be noted that the IDE Interface is not on the Syba adapter but in the CF card. Therefore, in terms of compatibility with the CIC, the CF card is more likely to be the problem if it doesn't work. Last edited by kiese; 02-09-2022 at 01:29 AM.. |
