Sorry to hear it man ........
No matter where I park ....... if someone is parked beside/in front of/behind me I take a couple of quick pictures w/ my iphone of the other vehicle's plate and proximity to my car. This way if there is any damage to my vehicle I atleast have an idea of who was/is responsible. One more reason I never park where it's out of my sight. |

I actually have workd valet so Id always park my V-Dub in Valet, I can trust them a bit more than regular drivers here in SA even tho they sometimes like to try to have fun in our cars.. not to mention I have a Cover for the whole body sized of a VW Jetta that i used to use in spots id not reuturn to the car all day... mainly for the paint and so in case someone gashes my car the paint of their car wont get on mine...

there is 3 locations: boerne by the mercedes dealership, nakoma/281 location, or behind the porsche dealership. I prefer the boerne one cause its newer (and the owner is usually there right now to make sure everything is running correctly.. if you go to the Nakoma location ask to talk to Matthew (owners son). I loved there work cause before I had a 350z that got reared and they fixed it. Well later on I sold it to Carmax and they could not tell it was ever painted.

I had my car painted by Laredo and was not happy at all with the quality of the work. There were runs, oversanding, paint lines from the tape off, and overspray. I rank them about the same as Alamo paint and body.
If you want quality for a decent price Vollmers is the answer. If you got an insurance job Jacks paint and body is the best with ACW a close second. If you can afford to go to Austin Berlis is the best probably in Texas. |

autox this sunday. I'd like to see what another 335 can do out there. Don't worry the autox will end before the superbowl starts. |

New E92 owner checking in
Hey all,
I just picked up my 07 335 coupe a couple of weeks ago. My username was Jimwantsa3 and is now Alpine Blur. I have been posting on the main forum for a few weeks but I thought I would intro myself to the SA crowd. I have already traded e-mail with Skim once (sorry I couldn't make it to the first meet). Here is the link to the post I put up when I got the car (some pics as well): http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=202723 I am hoping I will be able to make some valid contributions. I will start SA involvement by passing along some info: I was reading about the HPFP and a possible relation to ethanol content in fuel. SInce Valero is the most convenient gas retailer for me, I contacted them about their ethanol content. They say there is no ethanol in their fuel here in San Antonio but that they have an ethanol blend they are required to use in Houston. I am not sure why there is a difference. Next, I have a few Carfax searches left on my account. Please PM me if you want me to run a VIN. Lastly, I just DL the torrent for the BMW 2009.1 nav maps and burned it successfully to a dvd. It works great in my car. Here is the link to the torrent: http://btjunkie.org/torrent/BMW-Nav-...04d5f4f442c367 If you are unable to burn a copy, I'd be happy to burn one for any of the local SA guys/gals. Jim |

I'm not quite a resident of SA yet (June of this year!) however, I wanted to comment on the ethanol question. This is the EPA's way of attempting to regulate the amount of pollution generated in densely populated areas. Ethanol burns cleaner and therefore produces less carbons. San Antonio doesn't contribute as much as Houston in the way of pollution. This data is collected through the use of smog checks/number of vehicles registered per square mile etc. Doesn't help our cars to run any better though. I used to work in the environmental industry and unfortunately retained too much information. Peace. |

Oct, I really enjoy watching autox although I have never done it myself. I have been to a few SASCA events. I'll try to make it to the next one. |
