Man, that'd be crazy if it were that soon! In my head I'm thinking I'll get it the week of the 2nd...if I got it any earlier than that it'd be an unexpected bonus!
I'm glad you were pleasantly surprised with your car getting on a boat - good thing for the Highway!

Look up a specific boat for more details. It entirely depends.

It took mine 4 days from reaching port of exit to getting on a boat. It'll be right at two weeks to get across the pond. So, maybe leave around the 21st, hit Chucktown around the 4th? You'll come through Charleston for sure. Looks like there is a W&W ship called Integrity hitting Charleston on the 7th. Give your dealer a ring tomorrow and ask what ship you're on. You can then search for the ship and see its schedule. Also, check the Ultimate Tracking Guide sticky. It tells how to see real time GPS of where the W&W ships are.
Since you're so close, have you thought about doing the PCD? It's a whole lot of fun and the price is right (free)!! |

Just got word from my SA. He said my car will be arriving on June 10th!!!! what ship would that be on? He also said it'll take another week to get it across to the west coast.
Took longer to get on a boat than it did to make the car..

Not sure, that doesn't make much sense. The west coast cars are dropped off in Port Hueneme, CA, so they wouldn't have to go across the states to the west coast. Call him up and ask him what boat you're on. He should know.

I was not aware that there was a port in CA.

Yep. They ship 'em around through the Panama Canal. Here's some pics from an article a few years ago when the toured the VPC in Oxnard.

Do the Dealers know before hand what ship your car is on? Or is more of a, "we know the destination, and we will know the boat once it is on it"
I ask because my car has been at the dock. . .awaiting transport . . . and there is a ship leaving tomorrow. Actually there are two. I called my dealer and he said that there was no boat assigned yet. Does that mean I'm not on the boat? Or is it more likely for me to get on the boat and then he will find out what boat I'm on. From the looks of the tracking thread. . . i feel like I wont know until I'm on it. BUT I WANT TO KNOW. . .ugh the pain |

It's hard to say. Depending on when your CA looks, he may see it's been booked if the ship is leaving shortly. Typically you will get word after it's on the boat though. Unless someone actually works at BMW though, it would be hard to know exactly when they first see.

hmm . . . its been at the port since the 16th. I know the wait time from there is pretty variable. . . .but 8 days is probably about average from what I've seen on here. . . so with 2 boats leaving tomorrow, I'm just hoping I'm on one. . . and I wish i knew.

I'm pretty certain you'll be on the boat tomorrow.
By the way, what two boats are you talking about? I only see the Integrity. Oh wait, now I see the Elektra, I still don't know for sure what ports are what. I don't know if FL boats go to SC or GA. Either way, hope you're on one.

Mine was completed about April 25th and I'm hoping to take delivery May 30th. There are a lot of variables, but guess about 5 weeks. If it's sooner, you'll have a pleasant surprise.

Yeah, just depends. Mine was completed on 4/29 and I expect to take delivery right around 5/29, so less than 4 weeks for me. I'd say 4-5 weeks is a good guess though.
